After taking everything into consideration, the following 2 adapters seem to be the most suited:—

QuantumZERO QZ-AD03

and

QuantumZERO QZ-AD02

I was already in favour of the AD03 one, can you point out just the highlights of AD02 over the AD03 one?

And can you also say why you rejected the TP-link one?

The AD02 integrates 2 layers physical and MAC in one single chip — also, the longer reach of the AD02 cable would prove beneficial.

I revisited the TP-Link adapter after you reiterated that it was a USB 3.0 (before submitting my 2 choices) — however, it's not in the same league where quality of the hardware is concerned (QuantumZero are specialist manufacturers of port peripherals.)

@dcs18

Ordered the QuantumZero QZ-AD03 USB 3.0 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter

Got even a sweeter deal, getting it directly from the manufacturer's site: https://www.quantumzero.in/quantumzero-qz-ad03-usb-3-0-aluminum-gigabit-ethernet-adapter.html

And turns out even this model has a " Gigabit Ethernet Controller - ASIX AX88179 ", maybe they just don't boast about it since they already did that in the previous gen QZ-AD02.

Thanx for all your help.

Both the AD03 and the AD02 as well, have the same controller except for the differences mentioned on my previous post.

This below feature:-

-The AD02 integrates 2 layers physical and MAC in one single chip

is because of the controller itself as per my understanding.

Quote

AX88179 is the world's first USB 3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet controller which integrates USB 3.0 PHY and 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet MAC/PHY in a single chip.  -source

The length of the wire/cable I'm not arguing. :P

Yep, despite both adapters sharing the same controller, I don't think that the integration is present on the AD03.

This forum alone, if at all anything that bothers me right no is the issue of too much brightness but as I read DKT will be doing something about it, so it's all OK for me and if he doesn't I'll do it myself.

I think you'd better start doing it yourself — if anyone gets it done at server-level, that would be shought (but then, he's been missing in action.)

The only one tweak that got implemented was squaring-off, of the profile pictures (avatar) — thanks . . . . . . only to this heads-up.

I would like it as I posted it here sometime using a l'il bit of dark and l'il bit of white like I had before.(not whole dark or whole white) But I know that will take time. I'm also prioritized with the new laptop now. Just updated it's BIOS yesterday and got it registered(had to apply some tweaks - 'Metered' otherwise M$ would make it a hell to register). I'm also planning to create a Acronis backup before I do a clean install. Probably I will create the backup later today, tomorrow I got other thing, so next week should be the moment, the ethernet adapter should also arrive in that time.

After this is done and I'm bored, I will look at how nSane is doing. But I already see some changes, howsoever they might be, so maybe someone is working bit by bit.

What changes did you see? To my eyes the only one change that might have happened (not really sure, though) is the background of the Following Button.

Some links are not pointing to where they should (might be the forum update or because some posts were removed).

Have made the necessary edits — however, shall need to come back (at leisure) and check the rest of the links since I suspect that some more, might've been affected.

It is a pain... I reported this "feature" to the forum bugs section yesterday.

The way this is going, Nsane will need a lot more moderators that can edit topics to keep them as they were (functionality or sumthin' wise).  If moderators (or  some new rank - "nsane editor") are getting to it, then i hope they'll ask for permission and instructions first. I doubt anyone will take this "job" :P

The only difference I'm seeing is the text size (which is a matter of personalization.). yXZVmpE.gif

Look at near the Export button, there is a sort of double line thing which is incomplete.
