dcs18, i can't send you a pm. your account doesn't permit it don't know why. so i have something you should pay some heed to. as we know KIS 15.0.2.361 doesn't block ips on firewall basis. it is fully functional when we block these ips on network settings basis. therefore i kindly request you to edit your guide and tutorial section in which shows KIS firewall configuration pictorially (only KIS firewall pictures). now it should be as this steven36 post number 31. please see

//www.nsaneforums.com/topic/241531-internet-download-manager-623-build-5/page-2?do=findComment&comment=906662

Point noted, since I do not use KIS myself - let's also wait for the points-of-view from Now, IamBidyuT and kantry123 (especially given the fact that they are far more Advanced Users than steven36 is.)

Shall certainly comply as per the joint conclusion that the five of you draw and also make due modifications to the IDM tutorial along with the corresponding credits. :)

Tried telling the same thing to the same man almost 2months ago but I guess screenshots beat me to it. :(

However, as you'll see in my post, this method has it's limitation as also mentioned in the post quoted by pamadhilwankalan..

Let's wait for him to try out the 3rd mentioned solution as well and see.... again I don't have screenshots to provide, hopefully he'll figure it out.

Oh I see - the date shows clearly that it is actually your idea.

Completely wrong ! You might have done something wrong with your kaspersky MR2 (15.0.2.361) Or may be you are using some proxy app (which creates another firewall along with kaspersky, as example I use proxyfier to use / test with some specific server , while i connect it , it creates extra firewall along through IDM checks license info , for that I need to create IDM firewall rule inside proxifire too . . . . Here's my recommendation please check where's you are doing mistake , cause neither me nor kantry123 have faced any firewall leak issue in Kaspersky MR2 from last 3 months (from it's release) . . . Yeah, I accept, Kaspersky used to leak IP's , but it's when was MR1 , MR1 was buggy in several way . . . But MR2 completely fixed as far i've checked (though it's heavier than MR1 on system) . . . . . Hope you'll correct your KIS MR2 issue :)

No need of any modification on your KIS15 firewall instructions :) Though it'd be good if you mention there that KIS15 MR1 (15.0.1.415) leaks IP's of IDM , so it's good to use / upgrade to KIS15 MR2 (15.0.2.361) where it's been fixed completely . . .

Is it possible for you to provide the relevant Kaspersky screenshots? ^_^

Take your own time - we'll update the IDM tutorial (with Kaspersky firewall rules.)

ps:--

BTW, with my usual spectacles the link you pointed to is reading as 2015, not 2014 - wait, lemme check with my microscope. :lmao:

Just this version yours came undone am I right ? Its not that idea don't partly work it does but on updates KIS is bad for undoing your rules blocking thorough exe . So you need redo your rules sometimes on updates . With The other way any network activity it stays fixed for good.

Mine stays fixed though the exe in my firewall regardless if i use it or not .

eYtwLEH.png

I can just switch to allow zone and test something else .

But most security suite firewalls Leave a lot to be desired. At lest most Ive tested does for blocking apps.

please listen to me.i honestly say i am not as great as kantry123,IamBidyuT, and Now. i written what i experienced. i am here not to look someone down or have any clash.

but i know there is difference between KIS 15.0.2.361 and previous one. i only quoted steven36's post here because it worked nicely. i don't know who is the father of this new network block method idea......Now or steven36 or any other....i honestly don't know. but one thing is sure.....only steven36 presented this network block method by showing KIS pictures, not by Now. therefore i don't think it's Now who fathered this idea (he may be).

and as IamBidyuT says there may a proxy program that leaks ips, it is not true. i never use any proxy program.

I can't show pics as you asked. because now my KIS is configured on network level not on firewall level......and IDM is fine.

but i feel you all are making fun of me as i quoted two months old post of steven36. please don't make mockery of what i posted here as i am not as great as you all. if an old post is still handy and helpful....i am bound to resurrect that post any time if i feel appropriate

I tested it last year those pics is posted in the tut topic last year I tested it and AVG IS .I tested them in VM i would not use and IS solution myself .But I was just trying to help and many members here seen me post it . And the ones that are using the other method still coming undone tell this day. I dug it up because you was having trouble and are willing to learn .

REIS update 7 patch on idm builds 9 and 10 has problems must be rushing it out too soon, (Nags still there and patch's music dont work. :wtf: )

I have the hosts file blocked ips applied (with "simple hosts editor")and also in commodo's internet security firewall thanks to blacknoise's post, used regtrash to get rid of some keys "a couple of Armadillo's and Visual Protect 3.5" (maybe something or not)

so

1. uninstalling 623build10 (restart pc)

2. then using Idm cleanner batch RAA (runasadmin)

3. installing 623build9

(U may skip) 4. tried REIS update 7 patch applied totally failed to stop nag screen.

(U may skip) 5. so wiped with idm cleanner batch RAA 2nd time

6. and applied REIS update 5

7. and then installed 623build10 over that

8. then REIS update 5 again.

maybe I rushed this but someone surely will figure it out.

and so even after all this i dont know which theory fixed it but it works no nag so far and ive been running a hour or 2 now. and yes ive also restarted pc and downloaded something too with idm still no nag.

windows 10 firewall control plus , When I 1st started using it was windows 8 firewall control plus to block some other programs I really was new with it I knew more about WF and WFC and others than I did It but anyname showed everyone the basics on blocking ips with it . so i improved it to my needs by making my own zones witch is only in the plus version.

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink.

Kis Methods explained

I like testing things and making them work always have, but once I find something working I move on to testing something else. Because whats working becomes boring and repetitious after awhile. ^_^

Dont know if this is anything to go by for Internet Download Manager v6.x.x Update 7

this post below is from REiS forum posted 5 hours ago by LordCoder.

@all If it isn't working, I recommend using Revo Uninstaller to remove any registers if you have used previous patch.

One thing is for sure KIS has had problems with removing your FW App rules since they changed there Firewall in v8 and that was many moons ago . And unless they ever do a major rebuild to fix it will always be and issue with trying block trusted apps with it . Unless you drink the koolaid and block thorough Any network activity. Its up to if want keep getting a fake serial on updates . But if you read that above you will know why. :P

I don't like and app that makes decisions for me telling me whats trusted and whats not . With what I use it lets me make my own decisions.
