Administrator DKT27 Posted May 23, 2010 Administrator Share Posted May 23, 2010 @shajt: LOL. Now don't change it again. :P
shajt
LOL, I won't for sure :PI've exported all settings before I uninstalled it, and the only reason I uninstalled it, was to check something with CIS4, like you said, it is really tempting :DWhat I found out was many many bugs, with or without sandbox. In fact I'm amazed I wasn't able to see them before.3.14 is somewhat better but the fact that I'm using older version (of any software for that matter) is giving me bad thoughts :P
Administrator DKT27 Posted May 23, 2010 Administrator Share Posted May 23, 2010 I was the unlucky one who had to fight with bugs from the very first time. :mellow:Bad shajt having bad thoughts. Last night you saw megan fox's movie, didn't you? :hehe:
shajt
Nah, I'm a big Lee Marvin fan :tooth: I watched this whole series of how to make your computer secure with free products. I'm a new man after watching this  Really, for starters, no more Safari , it's firefox baby, cool extensions :) @dkt27, please watch this (whole five parts) and let me know what you think :
shajt
Or, you can skip first two parts and watch no.3 in series, which deals with your favorite security app  Enjoy :P
Administrator DKT27 Posted May 24, 2010 Administrator Share Posted May 24, 2010 LOL. I'll see it later in one or two hours. ;)
SJ316
Well for start I have ProtoWall.I use pasive tools like Spywareblaster, and HostMan to handle host files. As my main protection I use KIS2011, also the Firewall integrated in KIS; and also MBAM. Both Real-protection.As backups in case of infection I use Spyware Doctor, SUPERAntiSpyware, None of this real protection, just as background tools, in case KIS2011 or MBAM can't get rid of infections.I use Sandboxie, to try keygens, patches, also when I'm surfing.I have USB Disk Security because of the usb memories . In future I wan't to use VPN, for secure surfing, and I want to star using programs like DefenseWall, i can't use it in this moment because of low RAM. Administrator DKT27 Posted May 28, 2010 Administrator Share Posted May 28, 2010 Thanks for the video shajt. I sure want it. Temping indeed. Maybe Bizarre can give us more details.
shajt
I'm very tempted :snack: But this time I'm gonna install it first in VM and put some thorough testing there, I'm hoping it will pass :xmas:
Administrator DKT27 Posted May 28, 2010 Administrator Share Posted May 28, 2010 Well it seems safe from here. The bigger question in my mind is, he said it is free right now, but would it be the same later.
shajt
It will always be free, he only said that because people can get confused by name (it's Premium now , instead Free) Yep, look pretty good and safe, but I like my current setup very much and been installing / uninstalling a lot of diff.packages lately. I don't feel like doing it again, besides no big deal to install it in VM first and run few apps to test new sandbox features. One thing is certain, I'm not gonna install their AV, if sandbox is working properly I wont install any AV
Administrator DKT27 Posted May 28, 2010 Administrator Share Posted May 28, 2010 As long as I come to know about Comodo you'll see the beta in one month and final in two months from now.I keep ESET AV and MBAM running as is.
Bizarre™
I guess I'm gonna try this once it's available.I'll post my findings until then.
Administrator DKT27 Posted May 28, 2010 Administrator Share Posted May 28, 2010 We'll wait for your review.Something I never thought. My Comodo 3.14 performed higher in Leak Test when I set it's defense+ to training mode.@shajt: Like Need For Speed Underground 2?
shajt
You can pass all tests no matter the version as long sandbox is disabled and proactive configuration is set.I have a feeling this version is gonna be solid.Beside sandbox issue I never had any trouble with Comodo. But I just don't like using something which isn't working properly (sandbox), no matter if I can disable that and work perfectly normal. One thing I like with this new version is new option to run unrecognized apps sandboxed.I didn't like that auto-sandboxing. Some legit apps runned sandboxed and of course I had to check not run it in sandbox anymore and restart app. It's a pain .. :)So, to conclude : I really don't see how it can fail now, but we'll see, it's a big step forward, that's for sure :)@dkt27 , I used to play games, but now just here and then (I get bored pretty fast) usually I run newest games just to see how system performs, enjoy a little bit and forget about it :DAs a matter of fact I just played Blur , nice driving game , I like it :rolleyes:edit : oh, I see what you mean now (avatar :D) , yeah .. I was a big fan of NFS, still am ^_^
Administrator DKT27 Posted May 29, 2010 Administrator Share Posted May 29, 2010 Lets see how it does...Well your avatar, the game is NFS U2. PC version. Car Hummer. With hydraulics installed. Standing in yellow color shop. :rolleyes:ATM moment I'm in real need for a racing game. If you say blur, I'm gonna download it in a day (after I complete the ratio of 1 on the current torrent I'm seeding [public torrent :P ] ). shajt
Nice knowledge :)Well, if it takes that long to download than maybe u may want to skip this one, I mean it's good , nothing wrong with it, but it's something like Split Second (haven't downloaded that one but I will start now and try it 2morrow ) so maybe that one would be better choice, but I'm not sure until I try it.I like pure race simulations and not this arcade biz with shooting and stuff, but it's fun :)
Administrator DKT27 Posted May 29, 2010 Administrator Share Posted May 29, 2010 Underground 2 is my favorite game. :DJust saw that blur has just released. So there's no torrent for the PC version yet. :(I saw gamespot showing interest in this game, so I feel I should try it. I'm opposite, I like easy, half-arcade like. ^_^
shajt
Well, I think Blur is better then Split Second (for my taste, maybe graphics and sound are better in SplitSecond but too much arcade for me)See for yourself reviews for both games and then decide :
Administrator DKT27 Posted May 29, 2010 Administrator Share Posted May 29, 2010 Thanks for the videos again. :)Well, I don't like these sort of games. I just like simple racing. No weapons or dodging. I'm planning to go for Test Drive Unlimited. Last time I tried test drive it was TD 5 many many years ago. Please recommend me one good racing game. :(
shajt
I agree with you 100% I downloaded this Blur just for fun, played a little today and probably delete it in a day or two.Test drive unlimited I enjoyed very much, that is one really really good driving game, one of the best I ever played, really, awesome ;)If you haven't played that one , you must try it :)I can't wait for First Test Drive Unlimited 2 , I think it should be out very soon, check the trailer :
shajt
Here you can see how first part looks , you can check related videos as well : Game is perfect, u'll like it for sure, make no mistake about it ;) edit : Oh, and we are probably trolling this topic, open new one if u want and we can continue there :P
