Are you trying to learn how to configure firewalls or do you already know how? If you learn how to use Cisco products configuring firewalls will come to you rather easily. I took my Network+ which was helpful and I have watched/studied the CCNA and Security+ videos from CBTnuggets.com. I'm taking my Security+ exam on the 18th and my CCNA part1 exam on the 18th of February. I now have a very good understanding of ports/protocols and now the grand scheme of IP networks. My point is that I have learned a lot from cbtnuggets and have become very confident. If you are looking to learn in a fairly easy manner check them out http://www.cbtnuggets.com/

Wow, you guys really use to much security software. Like everybody, I like to have good security, but I see that some use more then 5 programs. On-Demand OK, but other is to much. I don't know why people like Comodo, I tried it and I don't like it at all. I couldn't find a way to allow connection to my laptop which is connected over ad-hoc, and not just Commodo, others also fail in this. Only Eset Smart Security worked fine, and of course Windows Firewall. Using any firewall if you are behind a router is really just waste of resource. Plus you have now great firewall in Windows 7, so there is no need at all. Here is my setup:

NAV 2010

Windows 7 Firewall + Windows 7 Firewall control (so I can control programs that tries to access the Internet)

a-squared (I don't like it at all, but I got license on giveaway - too much false positives and it's protection is ridiculous. For example it detects some keygen as a malware and it asks me what to do, allow or block, but keygen already started, really funny)

quick scan scheduled every day with MBAM (so, on demand only)

Cheers ;)

using kis 2010 since more than 1yr.till now no probms.not even one time.

also scanned with MBAM,super antispyware etc,,.nothing detected aft kis 2010 installed on my pc.

Be wary of v4 of that firewall. It's bound to cause problems.

I don't have any problems with firewall in v4.

Altough I don't use any antivirus software (if I have HIPS like Defense+) I tried to test this new v4 antivirus with sandboxie enabled.

Everything works great , trust me on that ;)

Maybe it's machine related in your case or you are using something beside Comodo , only thing I'm using is Comodo v4 on Win7 x86

Biz tested Comodo v4 and it failed all the tests.

After my upgrade to Windows 7. I'll stick to Comodo v3.

Didn't have any problems with 3.x either and I'm their long time user.

On other forums I read that it works just fine, without any problems, just like in my case.

What exactly problems are you having ?

I am a Comodo Hater.

OK i was :)

I tested it on VMware the new v4, it was really nice, not only the firewall, the AV part blocked succsessfully over 20 links from malwaredomain list(Newest Malware Links).

Never before saw such a succsess, i tested the same links with Norton, NOD32 and Kaspersky... None of them has fully blocked everything like Comodo. I have to say i am still wondering...

I had problems with NOD32 after it caused again and again 100% CPU on my real machine, so i uninstalled it and thought a few days about what i could try next.

I thought cmon lets test Comodo v4 on my real machine, before that i uninstalled everything else that i had on my machine(except Faronics Anti-Executable), i thought Comodo is the End of my Computer.

First Day it was hard to understand Comodo, flagging everything as Unclassifed.Malware on lowest Heuristik Settings etc.

I couldn't even use TuneUp 2010, it blocked it, add it to whitelist didn't worked until i rebooted.

I played for few days with the settings, and i see now its different but its good.

And also i didn't saw a single PopUp or Bluescreen like in v3 when installing an application ^^

I am using it with the Antivirus, Firewall, Defense+ and the sandbox etc.

Everything on Low/Mid

No big problems and i don't feel any slowdown!

Only thing is that it uses much RAM.

My System is pretty clean, 210Ram was most time used without any AV but with (Faronics AES).

Installing Comodo causes 370Mb, the Comodo Processes are not using much ram though

@DKT27:

The test v4 failed from CLT (for me) are: DDE and COAT

Also, from what I'm getting at COMODO forums, the sandbox is not working properly.

Although I still have faith that COMODO will get though this ordeal like always ^_^
