1. get latest revo uninstaller

2. select advanced search for left files

3. when you try to uninstall IDM , Revo automatically asks us to download a log file from its server to comleeeetly uninstall IDm.

after uninstall select advanced search and delete all registries.

4. after this revo will ask to delete for left files and folders....delete those

5. here works that log file revo downloaded and used to remove IDM completely. in next phase, revo will show some more registeries. delete them all.

restart system and install IDM again and try KIS on network basis block.

trial rest he need to remove IDM completely, but using patch no need to remove anything just close IDM remove Visual Protect 3.5+ from registry then use the patch and done

If you are still facing the popup issue the go with as BALTAGY instructed , just exit IDM & delete the Visual Protect 3.5+ from registry , then reregister (if required) that's all . . . on 1st day I also faced this issue ( @ that moment you said your's working fine ) . . Then I solved that issue this way . . . No uninstall / Reset / patch needed :wub:

I can't use dcs18's IDM firewall block since I need to switch between firewalls and need to turn it off sometimes to test my software project.

As stated in my previous post I am not using his method since I am turning my firewall off constantly.

And when I tested checking IDM for update (clicking the "Check for Update" in the about page window of IDM)

it gave me this below (the "You are using..." msg) while my firewalls were all turned off! ;)

Some tend to overdo things a lot :rolleyes: when all it needed were just some simple proper procedure and configuration. ;)

No need to get too much paranoid as it's like promoting IDM now is using witchcraft (highly advanced hidden server update eventhough it was blocked in the firewall already; referring to blocking pirate's method and patch) to stop us pirates. :blink: :doh: :hehe:

Just because it want check for updates don't mean it want unregister you . IDM using another IP to check the key . And they can simply change the update ip and the one they check with to one you never seen and nuke you. Patch or IP methods. the way ip blocks work it blocks the whole ip . the way patching it patchs it so sends it back to ip server its real . if its some ip not patched its missing a check. Trial version there's nothing to check. it don't use a serial .

Again, My firewall are turned off for many days now.

If it is turned on it is allowed all the way to access the internet and its server, no limitation, and it does not have any IP blocking method like dcs18 method.

You can see it in my screenshots, mine is working without any IP method block and my FIREWALL IS TURNED OFF. :P

Regarding IDM will have a new IP then it makes no senses since I allowed it to access its server all the way. It will not affect me. :lol:

so your using a patch or trial reset . There's another way to block ips besides Chief RES FW IP method I give credits were credits are due .I blocked IDM IPs along time ago in Comodo v3 Chief RES told Appznet how to do it many moons ago. But there's the way I use to do it it still works

I can use trial or one the many new patches to achieve this with out using Cheif RES method . But only problem I see now is many trying to get unblacklisted from a new ip with FW Block . If use a patch and not FW block you cant help them because you didn't test it. And If someone that uses a different FW they cant really help someone that does unless there willing to test the subjects FW. You cant reproduce what you don't test.

i give credits to each person for what they done not just one . Each person showed different ways to use there kind of FW . How do you think they fell if they showed you a way to do something and someone else gets credits . All Firewall Blocking is Hostblocks in reverse that's very hard to support because there's so many brands . So most have to use someones notes and know how to catch on very quick. Thats if the notes even are right as @pamadhilwankalan tired point out to you all. Just because its posted don't mean its fully tested for any bugs .
