Important heads up for those using the Windows Firewall Control (WFC) tutorial — the latest version v4.5.4.4, adds a few "Allowed" rules (without your consent) which you might want to delete to maintain a leak-proof and tamper-proof status.

Can you specify what those rules are??

Also need your help with creating WFC rules for freashly installed windows 8.1 x64.

Can you import your defalut rules for

  • Core Networking - Teredo
  • Host Process for Windows Services (svchost.exe)
  • System (System)

About 8 to 10 new "Allowed" rules were added — just a few examples:—

Bing Finance

OneNote

Skype Metro App

Zune Video

etc., etc.

Also need your help with creating WFC rules for freashly installed windows 8.1 x64.

Can you import your defalut rules for

  • System (System)

All these 3 need to be allowed.

rudrax, I think you got a great deal for a Sony Vaio — with all due respects to its pitiable condition. F3h9xqz.gif

Dusktilldawn, most of us here, use a unique implementation based on this firewall tutorial — it automatically blocks all unnecessary elements (past, present and future) with the least of User efforts. ^_^

Yes, I also think I had a very good deal. A reballed laptop is always a headache to keep.

Well, now I will start ordering parts for my desktop. The problem that came up is the G3258 CPU gone unavailable from flipkart and in amazon it costs 7.2k which was 5.3k. So, I have to switch to i3-4150 which costs 7k in snapdeal. Now I have no idea how to manage things under my budget as it has exceeded by 2k due to CPU price hike. Please suggest something.

Shall do the needful after the Acronis tutorial is complete — don't want to be losing my focus right now. ;)

http://www.nsaneforums.com/topic/255158-madvr-08913/?p=1003674

madVR 0.89.13

v0.89.13 (2015-10-31):

  • added support for rotation (0°, 90°, 180°, 270°) via key shortcut and API
  • videos are automatically rotated now, if the container/splitter says so
  • improved chroma quality when using DXVA on Intel (and maybe NVidia) GPUs
  • improved DXVA processing performance under specific circumstances
  • if DXVA is used, brightness, contrast, hue etc is applied by DXVA now
  • fixed a couple of DXVA processing related bugs
  • Intel/NVidia: DXVA2 image + Bilinear chroma upscaling -> DXVA chroma up
  • DVD Navigator AR has now priority over decoder / splitter / bitstream AR
  • updated AdaptiveSharpen to 2015-10-29 (experimental) version
  • added new profile rule script variables "display" and "variableAR"
  • optimized RAM consumption a bit, maybe
  • added option to not resume playback after lens memory change
  • fixed lens memory activation problem for Sony projectors
  • fixed: "runtime" profile variable didn't work properly
  • ;)

A warm hi to dcs18 and active guys here!

I'm gonna remove those entries from the context menu. Have already tried "ShellExView" and "Windows 8 Manager" utilites but strangely they are not found at all. Any idea dudes?

They must be somewhere in the registry. Don't know where but search for main ACDSee folder in the registry and look for relative terms like ShellEx, context etc. under it and delete the entries. Please backup the entries before you delete just to be safe in case anything goes wrong.

Hello J4NY4R . . . . . have never had the occasion to use ACDSee — however, you should be able to find your answer at the following registry key:—

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\.ACDC]
