Guest Posted January 2, 2020 Share Posted January 2, 2020 For those have popup issues and fake serial thingy on IDM, check out this post by @dcs18. These fixes (if done correctly and in elevated mode) should work flawlessly to cleanup the mess due to popup issue and fake serial thingy. I'm monitoring @dcs18's post. been using that ip-blocking method for few years and never encountered any issue at all. It hasn't shown me the fake serial message since then. i think those who get the fake serial message might have their IDM registry messed up. therefore, the need for me to post the workaround to remove that message. this involves registry cleanup tho. So, I used after a complete uninstall with Revo Uninstaller Pro v.4.2.3 :- 1= Everything Search ( look for - Internet Download Manager ) 2= Registry Workshop 5.0.1 ( Find - Internet Download Manager ) 3= Ccleaner Pro 5.63.7540 4= Kerish Doctor 2020 5= Windows 10 Manager 3.1.9 6= Reg Organizer 8.41. Reboot your PC and install IDM 6.36.1. Apply Activator 1.4 by @Actver according to the instructions. END: Now it works !
