Is this the one, to which you're referring? yXZVmpE.gif

Yep, about that I was talking about.

How I can understand he created a blocked zone with all ip (s).

That will mean all installed apps. will be blocked in order to access those ip(s).

I guess blocking only idm.exe is a more viable solution due to you can download the latest releases through browser.

Am I wrong?

Hello @hamanokaito

Please let me know how I can assign an exe to a certain zone. I do not see any such option in " Network Zone " section.

Looks like here you can edit only the name for the zone and the ip (s) associated with it. But I suppose the zone will be applied to all applications, not only one or to a certain number.

As I wrote above I made a rule for IDM.exe, but in "Application Rules" field.

I am using this firewall since about a week, so tips from people with much experience into it are more than welcome.

Regards,

I'm planning to write a firewall tutorial on the first post of this very page — shall be detailing a different method to block IDM which at the same time would also allow download of the IDM installer (for updating/upgrading purposes.) ;)

OMG: I thought it might be a joke! tx38TOr.gif

Then I will keep an eye on it! F3h9xqz.gif

@dcs18 until your tutorial will be finished, please let me know what do you think about my configuration into Comodo Firewall related IDM.

1. In Application Rules I created a new rule: I chosen IDM.exe and I defined 34 rules for it: 1 Allow + 33 Blocked ( All posted IP(S) ). Also the order is essential in any firewall: the allow rule must be 1st then the rest of 33.

 ENeL69H.png

2. Installer can be downloaded through browser:

 AUP3jSb.png

3. As it should be, the installer cannot be downloaded through IDM:

Greetings,

Here is video how to use zone of comodo

Thanks! I made it like here!

I am still beginner, didn't know that you can add at "Destination Address" a certain network zone. However this can be done in " Application Rules ", not into " Network Zones ".

With all of these, creating the rule directly in " Application Rules " will save you to define any additional zone under " Network Zones ".

Greetings,

You should use zone to manager domain or ip ! it will easy than block each one rule

If you want update ip or domain, you only update in zone created.

Yep ! Destination Address is remote IP and source Ip is Ip local

Network Zone can't block apps ! But it can help you manager ip or domain <== I mentioned above

P/s: I hope you can use this methode to block idm or other apps.

The Time Settings is right at the bottom of the Basic Setup page — using any of the available states as your Time Zone is sufficient (the Server IP/Name field can be left empty.)
