I believe you, there is RTM BUILD: 6.3.9600.16384. and ROLLUP UPDATE BUILD: 9600.16404. There is an eplanation of this and why it is still RTM BUILD: 6.3.9600.16384, but i can not find article at moment , once i do i will post

check my screenshots...i have posted them...

Here is the same screenshots this is the download and install from WZOR last MSDN Edition

I have the same build number after ROLLUP UPDATE. I install them from stallone files here we are that will show no difference between them Installation from previous MSDN Edition + Update those 3 files = Windows 8.1 General Availability Update Rollup [17 October 2013]

I have installed the MS Latest release in my VMware give me 10 min i will get the screenshot there as i am uploading Pirate Bay to share it with you all >>>Windows 8.1 PRO (English US) x 64 ISO Extract from WindowsSetupBox [untouched]

OS build number is determind with ntoskrnl.exe version, not Explorer.exe file name. The article was posted here explaining all this and the difference between 16404,16408 and 16384 but whole thread has been accidentally deleted by a mod and are trying to get it back

is it just PRO or the 'N' edition without media player?

waiting bro...i guess you will be the first to upload...but you see in TPB, some VIP uploader might download your copy and upload the same...they will have more seeders than you... -_-

Just wanted to throw this info out to nsaners. After installing rollup updates onto Server 2012 R2 Datacenter my memory would start at say 6% and would slowly increase to 100%. This all happens in about a 5 minute span. After that my computer would freeze and lockup. So would reboot and the whole process would start over again. Reinstalled Server without updates and memory sticks at 10%. Rollups were no good for me.

I don't know but everything seems to be ok now. Without the rollups but I haven't finished reprogramming yet. So we will see.
