rKAnjEL
I would like to see more categories (suggestion): backup utilities, (file...) encryption utilitiesWell, I see kotaxor has kindly suggested programs you might want, but I have no intention in adding those categories any time soon, I simply don't think they're essential at all.Once COMODO Registry Cleaner gets a bit stable, it should be added. For now it's a potential registry cleaner.Yeah, I tried it and it's not bad at all but still needs work. rKAnjEL
Tell to me/us, please loud and clear, "DATA BACKUP IS NOT ESSENTIAL AT ALL"Well, "DATA BACKUP IS NOT ESSENTIAL AT ALL", happy now? :P The term "data backup" is VERY generic, so if you go make a copy of your important files on a CD that's a "data backup", although there are programs that slightly facilitates the process by adding options such as automation/scheduling it's still a rather crude method which is not THAT useful since you can do it manually anyways. Now, if you're talking about "data imaging" now THAT's a different story, imaging is the true sense of backup, since it's more than a mere a copy from the data. "data imaging" provides more complicated tasks such as the ability to backup an entire partition (or even HDD) onto an single image file. Of course I can go on about the benefits of "data imaging" compared to simple "data backup" but I think you get the picture. For a "data imaging" programs you need at least 3 functions or else it will be useless, the first two are backup/restore (duh! lol) and the third one is the ability to prepare a bootable image/disc to use it for the actual backup/restore.Renowned shareware programs (such as Acronis TrueImage, Norton Ghost, Clone Drive Pro...etc) do all that and more, but I haven't found a FREE application that can at least perform those 3 basic functions properly.Well, that's what I think about that matter and as usual that's only from my personal experience/opinion, that being said, if you do know decent FREE programs that fit the profile I'd love to try them ;)
demonon
Personally found IZArc much better than 7-zip. http://www.izarc.org/Of course IZArc can open certain files and manipulate the archives where 7-zip cannot.IZArc always helped me to look deep into .exe files. But then 7-zip is faster then IZArc.
