Surprising. Can confirm. Last time I checked the Copy Image was working, but somehow it's broken now. The problem seems very much from the IPB side though. An update is lined up sooner or later, which probably fixes this issue.

As of now, I would suggest everyone to use [ img ] [ / img ] tags, while posting the link as plain text, without HTTPS as even HTTPS breaks it.

that the pic problem get fixed. If I want to insert a image link from imgur.com the field to insert the link changes to red after a short time and if I want to use the attach function the system tells me that I only can upload pictures if it is not bigger than 14 kB ore something like this.

I wish these apps. to be posted on frontpage :

Greetings ,

;)

Thanks for the recommendations.

The first one was discussed. But was later decided that we already have more than one serving the same on the FP. Someone like jordan, anuraag or jalaffa can say better than me though.

As for the second one, same, we have this and this.

About the third one, we have this.

Again, all this is subject to further consideration. If you think the softwares you have suggested are better than the ones on FP, do let us know how and why so. We can consider it further then.

The attachment limit is 500KB per file for ViPs. 10MB total. You probably have filled your limit here.

Any chance for adding a good PDF editing and creating software on frontpage:)

I doubt we have any good ones listed on FP for this purpose. We will look into it.

This situation is completely systematic. And if http:// even sometimes works, then the https:// do not work hardly ever.

I have not seen that page from a long time now. HTTPS should not be used on forums though. It's broken.

Come to think of it, is HTTPS broken on your own forums. As the things we tried here, we decided that HTTPS is broken in IPB right now and should not be used on forums here.

@DKT27

If possible can the staff leave a comment in the 'frontpage software update'(FSU) topics providing a link to the corresponding link to the 'news & update' thread before closing the FSU topics?

Not possible unfortunately. Well, it's possible the manual way which would be too time consuming for the Frontpage Staff but doing it automatically will require some expert like shought to write an JS script for it. Which is not possible right now I think.

Why don't you turn to nSaners with this request ?   There is a bunch of knowledgeable and helpful volks on nSane, who are capable to do such thing. It's not the rocket science after all.

Besides, letting members to be involved in solving forums problems would definitely have a positive psychological side effect (community could grow stronger).  So why not to try ?

Good idea. I do not mind taking help if required. For small things, I do not think it's exactly required. For big things we can surely consider it. Infact, I'm already considering for a thing, but for then I need's shought's confirmation about it.

Last suggestion..sorry :)

Also, EagleGet is a very good download manager, I've ditched IDM and FDM for it.

This is a really interesting thing. I'm personally looking after adding one more download manager on FP from some time now. This is due to the fact that we needed to remove one of them from the FP due to this. Since then we have been looking into adding a download manager, preferably freeware. We are confused about the one you are recommending and this one. We are not wanting the second one as it's not free and the first one we heard was not being updated from some time now - wondering whether it's still being developed by the developer. But just checking it shows that it was recently updated, so we will look into it.

We will have to properly test it before frontpaging it, so it will take some time though.

I wasn't aware you guys have LAME listed on nsanedown, which is also outdated, current release is 3.100.

My favorite player, foobar2000, the website support https, maybe you could consider to change it, also the description is a bit wrong, especially built-in support part, homepage is good reference.

With this same occasion, I want to recommend some software that you could consider to be added on nsanedown, some of them are HexChat, XnView MP, uGet.

Personally I'm looking more for good freeware, especially cross-platform software, moreover open-source. Regards.:)
