Unfix box, mara- fix. Uninstall ESET (ESET guys recommend uninstall before upgrade). Install new version. Fix it again. :)

I just can't believe it. :o I finally bit the bullet and installed ESET NOD32 4.2.64.12 yesterday in Windows 7 x64 and also XP mode. In both cases this meant

  1. saving my ESET NOD32 preferences
  2. unfixing the box, mara- v1.3 fix

    • disabling Self-defence and rebooting

    • running the box, mara- v1.3 fix to unfix

[*]uninstalling the older ESET NOD32

[*]XP Mode required a reboot but Windows 7 x64 didn't

[*]installed the newest (as of yesterday) ESET NOD32

[*]restored my saved preferences

[*]disabled Self-defence which required a reboot

[*]fixed ESET NOD32 with the box, mara- v1.3 fix

[*]re-enabled Self-defence which required a final reboot (yes, I know the box, mara- fix can do this, but it gets flagged as the Shutdown virus so I do it myself)

And now I have to do that all over again? :o  I think I'm going to look into MiNodLogin now. :read:

You're welcome, Brrownie. :)

Thank goodness I didn't update my netbook yesterday. But now I still have to update my laptop PC again — twice (Windows 7 x64 and XP Mode)! And then I still have to update my netbook. And then there's my old Windows XP PC too. :s

why so frecquent updates in nod32?

Bug fixes. Occasionally there's also support for a new product such as Outlook 2010.

Its actually been quite awhile since the last release version... It could be worse though.. like me.. I always have boot into Safe Mode... and use the Command Line Uninstaller...

mara- released box, mara-fix 1.4 (some time ago, but there were some issues uploading files to the proxy :P).

Changes (what I recall):

- lower file size.

- removing of 'Upgrade notifications' works in non-English x64 versions as well.

- less false positives.

(@mara- do correct me if I made any mistakes :P)

Fix: System stalls during logon

So this  was the reason behind me clicking on me profile and my computer hanging.

box, mara-fix 1.4 working perfectly over here. :)

@shought: Thanks for letting us know that the box, mara-fix 1.4 was released. :)

I'm still trying to decide if I should stay with the box, mara-fix which works great (but updating ESET NOD32 with it requires a few reboots) or if I should try something else. It was the box, mara-fix that brought me to nsane.

Try every fix and use the one you like. I'm preferring the box, mara- fix. ^_^

EAVBE 4.2.67.10 x64:

Download

What is the passwords for BE?

Password

www.softgozar.com

Normally there are no risks downloading from third parties, but in order to avoid them, download directly from Eset. Home users won't benefit from the business versions. It is just a trick to make people download from rascals to get points ;) A clever Nsaner should know so by now ;)

If I have comodo stock antivirus, and I replace it with eset nod32 what will I be noticing if I don't webhackspornnooblet.

Will I suddenly realise my pc is riddled with viruses chomping away at my ram.

Or will it be exactly the same, something only popping up when i get lured to downloading authentic things off a non official web address?

have to ask
