127.0.0.1 license.piriform.com

Just add that line to the host file. I've been doing this for years and never had any problem with the license.

Can you update the software?

For those who experiencing slow start of the program, here's a possible to way to avoid encountering this issue.

*Go to your Anti-Virus program and add CCleaner directory to exclution list.

Slow start happens because your AV scans the software on startup. and this  scannning process may take time because as mentioned in the previous post, It was detected as trojan or malicious file although its a false positive detection.  So the best way is to add the CCleaner directory to your AV exclusion list and let us see if the problem will still occur.

I tried but it did not work. Piriform has the statement about lifetime license many users purchased before they switching to monthly or annually payment. They did not respect their customer like Malwarebytes does. Lifetime license is now revoked

in the case you asked me, it's my license. I purchased it some years ago, before they switching back to monthly payment

Maybe I got the developers point. lifetime licenses is only available on the time a specific released version of CCleaner corresponds their agreement regarding on licenses. In short, Lifetime licenses will only work for an older version where they use that offer. So if you will use that in a newer version, then it will no longer be accepted because by time to time they change the terms of using licenses. This already happens several times in SMADAV (USB antivirus) software.

After unblocking the .exe and adding licence-check to the hostfile , CCleaner opened immediately .

After reboot , CCleaner opened in a flash and was gone , could not open the program anymore , after blocking with firewal its ok again , opened after 10 seconds !

This is the worst CCleaner I ever used .............:(

No. I don't use an AV. As stated. slow start is caused by blocking CCleaner in the firewall. Block=slow No Block=fast. Currently the only way to keep ccleaner from calling home is blocking it through the firewall or using a modded version as mentioned by funkyy. Host file is only partial block because there are no domains that I know of that can be added  to the host file other than license.piriform.com. The other tracking/telemetry IP addresses don't seem to have a useable domain related to them for the host file.

why does some of CCleaner users need to block the app from host file when it is fully functional even while using it online?

If you want to avoid the application from reverting back into free version, try to disable all the 3 check boxes under the Privacy tab.

I have observed this before that if those 3 checkboxes are activated, My CCleaner reverts back to free. Now im using fully functional CCleaner Pro without blocking it from the host file.

I totally agree with @Thirdzky. I activated the Professional version of CCleaner by simply disabling my Internet connection and then inserting a license key generated by the keygen created by CORE. After reopening the software, I reactivated my Internet connection and it works perfectly. :)

I don't have any slowdown when opening, my hosts file and my firewall don't prevent CCleaner from accessing to Internet, and I also disabled the 3 privacy options, since Piriform was bought out by Avast. I can also search for updates without any problem, but I have to install them manually because the software realizes that the inserted license key is invalid when a new version is released.

I'm talking about slow start vs fast start and using host file as a workaround for the full block in the  firewall to avoid telemetry etc. on the free version. The free version only has one check-box for privacy.

That doesn't apply to the free portable.

then why choose Free Portable when it is available to use the Pro version? The crack and fixed for CCleaner is already given.

Atleast the checkbox is not activated. So no worries about reverting to free because its already free portable.

No need to use a crack when the free functionality does what I need (except for the slowdown now). I can live with that though. I was just looking for a solution other that a crack. 😁

Can I have a screenshot of your CCleaner under the Updates tab?

I see no issue for slowing down CCleaner. or else the problem is in the portable itself.

Dizizzeazzy : If you apply this Activator with Net Off, then you can use CCleaner Pro with Net On without problems.

When new update is available, don't update from the app itself. Just download the pro installer and install over the existing one without having to uninstall. It's how I've been doing for years. 😉

Geeez, I already said what causes the slowdown. Once more, the GUI delay occurs if you block ccleaner (uncracked version) from phoning home via the firewall (outbound) . Otherwise, the GUI will react normally. It has nothing to do with my settings. I don't have much more to say about this, so I'm done with this subject.  If you still don't understand, what I've been saying, maybe someone else can help you.🙄
