New favorites features in Microsoft Edge

Microsoft rolled out Windows 10 Redstone 2 build 14926, and soon after publishing the original announcement, the firm came back to reveal that there’s even more to discover for insiders who give it a try.

Microsoft Edge browser has received particular attention in this new build, so fast ring insiders installing it can give a try to new browser extensions that are available for download right now.

Dona Sarkar, the head of the Windows Insider program, says that Microsoft is currently working with partners to make more extensions available for Edge browser, and while these two new add-ons are currently offered to insiders exclusively, they should be released to everyone very soon.

The new extensions aren’t yet published in the store

“We have two new releases which we need your help testing and giving feedback on before we publish them to the general public. TamperMonkey is a popular userscript manager that lets users customize the content of pages across the web. Microsoft Personal Shopping Assistant is your smart shopping cart across the web, which collects your browsed products and lets you get price alerts for saved products and compare products between sellers,” Microsoft explained.

The new extensions aren’t yet published in the Windows Store, but you can install them by simply clicking the links in the quote to get them.

Additionally, Microsoft Edge also comes with a new feature that makes it possible for insiders to export favorites from the browser. All you have to do is launch the settings screen of Edge and click on the “View favorites settings” option to reach it.

Microsoft Edge is also getting a new “Snooze” feature in this build, which allows users to set reminders for loaded websites with help from Cortana. This way, they can be reminded to visit a specific website at a later time with a notification in the Action Center.

Yea I don't get why anyone would do an upgrade anyways when has Microsoft made a successful upgrade path from any previous os without any issues. xp to vista didn't have a great path nor did vista to 7 and same for 7 to 8 shoot even 8 to 8.1 had massive issues what makes you think they fixed it.

I don't use a lot of the crap in Windows 10 and Hated when Cortana would pop up in the middle of what I was working on.  I used DoNotSpy 10 and shut off Cortana and shut off the Web search as well because of the constant pop up suggestions when I was working.  If anything else pops up all the time I'll disable that too.  I also use Classic Shell to make my computer look like Windows 7.  I don't like the tiles and apps for a desktop or Laptop computer.  Most of my Radio Station apps like NextKast don't need Windows apps nor the store.

it was from an ISO. I never do the upgrade path ever on anything. v1511 working better then v1607 currently. It's been proven around the web that v1607 has broken quite a few things that were working correctly, especially software applications.

I've seen a lot of programs/apps out there getting updated in the last month and the very first line in most of their Changelog.txt file contains the following:

Improved/Updated compatibility for Windows 10 Anniversary Update.

Strange that these guys have to "recode" or "patch" their perfectly running software to be more "compatible" with the anniversary edition of W10. Now I can understand why I've seen posts flying around the web at users staying at v1511 presently and not upgrading to v1607.

I made a mistake by formatting to v1607 and losing my v1511 ISO.

that is nothing strange in software developement, if the OS have new features, and the apps want to use these features, then it need an upgrade in their code.

if the developers does not upgrade the code of the app, that does not means that the app will not work anymore, just that it will not be able to use the new feature, thats all, the app will continue working anyway.
