Batu69
Extensive customization of the Windows 10 desktop What Windows 10 could look like with some customization Microsoft has indeed worked on making the Windows 10 UI a bit more eye-candy with the Anniversary Update, but it’s no secret that users are always expecting more. And when it comes to customizing the looks of Windows, users in the community have always been ready for this task. Living proof is the creation of reddit user Rev0d, who managed to come up with the desktop you’re seeing below by combining several popular third-party apps that tweak various parts of the operating system. For instance, he turned to Classic Shell to replace the Start menu with one that boasts a more familiar look (and that doesn’t have live tiles), he installed new themes, fonts, and Rainmeter skins, but you can check the full list of apps that he used in the box after the jump. As you can see, the amount of time needed to make a Windows 10 desktop look like this might be more than you’d be willing to spend, but what this demo shows is that Microsoft’s operating system can indeed look pretty awesome if you know what to do. The most important problem after so many tweaks could be the final performance of the operating system, as the more apps, the bigger the slowdown. But in the end, it’s all about the looks, and in this case, everything’s pretty impressive. Sylence
More than anything in this screenshot, the background photo is eye candy, so all it takes is to choose a beautiful background. in build 1607 the lock screen animation got a lot better, no more third party app needed
stylemessiah
Im dumbfounded with why people bother with all that customisation, really find it obsessive and not in a good way, considering unless you never do anything on your PC besides look at the desktop, its pointless Me, i use my PC as a PC Who the hell needs a "taskbar shadow"? Move away form the PC, open a window or door....buy a fucking pet.....

Paft
Each to their own but that is massively average looking and incomplete. Needs custom icons. @stylemessiah Until morons stop making websites and interfaces in light tones/pure white I'll continue customizing.
D1v1n3D
Really who cares about eye candy this isn't Myspace I care about stability performance usability you know functionality. And once everything has the Dark theme it'll look nice. Having tons of third-party apps running constantly using the performance of your system resources more than necessary wearing down the hardware because all this shit is finite it wears out. Paft
Not if we're talking about what is featured in this topic. I doubt very much that's you'll notice a performance hit if any with ClassicShell and simple Rainmeter config. Wearing down hardware...Not a chance. With that logic I should should only use my PC as a calculator. Personal computer. If you can why not? Holmes
So what if the pic has a user who likes to customize dcseighteen loves to customize to and Im sure there are additional users that love to customize if my ocd didnt get in the way I would customize like that to and also be able to get out of the house and enjoy a normal life. It may take you forever to make those customizations including interrupting your real life that doesnt happen to everyone. SOme users could make those customizations in a hour or two and be able to get out of the house I could and have time to spend with my girlfriend stop hating style. My problem with that pic is it looks like a mac I personally think it looks ugly i have no problem with the fact that he customized his computer.
