avmad
Been using Comodo Firewall (D+ and sandbox) with Twister AV for a month or more and its so fast and light. No infections.Still contemplating whether to switch to Avast 6 though as I have a license from the Xmas giveaway. Version 5 caused loads of bsod for me. I tried my hardest but kept getting bsod. Not had any since I removed Avast. Hmm decisions decisions.Funny thing was the day I was going to make a switch I saw this http://securacomp.blogspot.com/2011/02/feb-25-2011-testing-twister-antivirus.htmlWhich hasn't helped me decide lol.
elohelomg
I see no freedom at all when I'm not able to run neither of my applications that keep me from dying of hunger or something, like CS5, Ableton Live (and the VSTs I need). When I add to that the no-gaming issue, Linux just fails for me. It obviously has its uses, but for a personal computer... I don't think so. Maybe after a few years or so, depending on the software publishers, it's their decision to start making apps for Linux. Personally, if Adobe would successfully port their CS on Linux I'd give it a shot. People got CS5 running in wine, so... O.o And its not linux's fault. Developers dont want to support linux yet. I understand that its not THAT popular, but, its not like only 5 people are using it. They more they support it, the bigger it'll become.
toyo
Of course Linux is popular, and it's not Linux's fault, after all Linux is just a OS. I read about Wine, but meh, I can have the original thing running, why bother?
AntiVirus
I'm using NIS 2011 + MBAM free as on-demand scanner for my seven and AVG IS 2011 for my XP. :D

Well, I guess you dont have to turn into a paranoid security freak on windows (like i was :/), and it gives you the sense of your own OS. Being able to customize everything YOUR way, having it turn on in less than 15 seconds...its just, well, awesome. :D

Maxhedroom
For me it's NIS2011, CounterSpy, and believe it or not BWMeter not only keeps track of my bandwidth but has a great firewall too (incoming and outgoing)...so I decide what gets net axx, keeps certain apps from phoning home. ;)

morteza
Norton 360 V5 + MBAM as on demand scan. Norton 360 V5 is stronger than NIS 2011.I test it with some malwares and saw Norton 360 V5 detect one sample more than NIS :) . I think Norton 360 V5 's SONAR is better than NIS 's SONAR. Aren't they use the same database? I'm pretty happy with NIS 2011 but considering to switch to Norton 360, although some features may not be too useful. STS
The setup in security that i have follows several different routes! - but in this order as they are encountered!lets start off with the router, that has a firewall that to be honest i really distrust - so i have in turn set up a DMZExternal connections.HOME DMZ - this is on it's own ip address, and the computer is seperated from the rest of the network no traffic whatsoever is allowed from this computer to any other on my internal network.in turn all traffic that i haven't specifically forwarded to any other computer goes here. and i let guests use this computer if they visit that way i don't really need to care about what they are doing on there. From the router to my firewall server - once again i have set this up so that it works only as a firewall traffic that comes through here will then be forwarded to the right places, however anything that does come through to here directly without authorization will just be dropped and it won't even show that there is a system here, - this has it's own IP Address.Internal connections, the prior mentioned server is connected to an internal router, which is then connected to four computers / laptops - all internet connections go through this to the firewall Server for access to the internet!one computer is then set purely as the SFTP/Torrent server on a linux osand the other computers connect wired/wirelessly to the internal router - which has it's own firewall and port forwarding rules. The Torrent Server has only a firewall that my other computers can connect to through certain ports on a web interface or through an FTP Client. All other computers haveESET Smart Security on it (Thanks to Those on nsanedown)Super antispyware / iobit malware fighter*****************************************************************************************I still believe that the best form of defense is common sense! - if it looks dodgy don't download it! - user error is 90% of virus and malware attacks!Golden rules - go to the places you know and trust, (like nsane)- If you don't know - don't click- research your product first so you know what you are getting download the trial first then if you want to try it further with full functionality look for a .TXT serial or a trusted keygen / patch- BUY THE PRODUCT AND SUPPORT THEM IF YOU LIKE IT
