Matsuda Posted April 2, 2015 Share Posted April 2, 2015 What i did,Uninstalled using Total Uninstall > then used registry trash keys > installed IDM again > used update 3 patch > changed the clock/making a lot of downloads to test and no nag until now. jacemace Posted April 2, 2015 Share Posted April 2, 2015 Went to sleep - and woke up with many more forum posts. Looks like idm could have snuck the fake registry registration back into IDMGrHlp.exe. It was even doing it offline. I tried IDMGrHlp.exe from ns870152 and it helped until I went to download a file, then the fake registry popped up again.I may go back to a previous version, or uninstall altogether. I also may try ip blocking with comodo firewall - but I'm not the biggest fan of ip blocking.Does anyone think that someone will ever make a free download manager as good as IDM? I've tried eagleget, fdm, igetter, flashget - and years ago some paid ones dap, getright - this is basically the list off of filehippo.com, but I was wondering if anyone knows of any good free download managers? Thanks.Edit just tried the reis pre-patch with the bak exe files and registry posted by n0_risk! - replaced them all, and it didn't hold while downloading a file - looks like they are sending something to idm everytime a file is downloaded. jacemace Posted April 2, 2015 Share Posted April 2, 2015 I downloaded the 6.21.18 patch by addhaloka posted by iih1, but didn't try it because the instructions said unistall everything and reinstall if you've used the IDMGrHlp.exe crack - and I don't feel like unistalling and reinstalling right now. Interestingly, the fake serial did not pop up with this download with the reis pre-patched cracks posted by n0_risk!, but it did with an earlier download.Thanks addhaloka - I will try blocking ips with my comodo firewall - but I don't really want to - I tried this a while ago on the idm version that needed IDMGrHlp.exe crack - and everyone was having fake registration pop ups with; but it blocked idm from downloading altogether. As I said with the reis pre-patched exe and bak files, the fake serial pop is still appearing, and it always appears when I download a new file - so my guess is idm is now calling home everytime a file is downloaded and at other times as well. Wish there was another way besides the firewall block or hosts edit.Right now, I just turn idm off when I'm not using it - which I've never done before.What is the last usuable version? Need a new patch to crack this new check.The only thing that can work from above - this method (or combined some patch and blocking), IMHO.
