I'll take a look. To answer to software182, close your IDM, reboot, you'll see if it's working and tell us. :)But for those they want to keep their KIS 2014, maybe I found an alternative.Install PeerBlock 1.2 http://www.peerblock.com/releases/public-releases/peerblock-1.2.0-r693 (bottom of the page)take this config file I made:http://www59.zippyshare.com/v/55012508/file.htmland load it. Not need to block P2P, Spyware, Advertising or whatever, just load the file.Make sure to block adresses from HTTP by hitting HTTP button. As you can see PeerBlock do its job. dcs18
hey i am sorry to ask but can you explain your method to me in a step-by-step way (not experienced user)Depending on the brand of your firewall - check out post # 1.1- What do you mean when you say "Without user's intervention"After having blocked an activated IDM successfully with your firewall there is no further User intervention - you do not need to patch, keygen or use a replacement exe to reactivate your copy each and every time you install IDM2- How should I update the currently installed version of the IDM without using any cracks or patches ?Thank you for your timeJust download the new IDM release from the FrontPage and install it - that's it (no User intervention.) Ashish
So after 3 days i got the fake serial popup. on checking out kis 2015 firewall, the new rules created for idm were automatically reset when i restarted the pc.Now this may be a bug on kis 2015 which maybe rectified in patch b, otherwise what's the use of firewall when you can't make your own rules stick to it. MyIDM
Yes, IDM sends request when it starts. So if your IDM runs when your system starts, it makes sense if the fake serial popup appears if the "concede resources" is ticked. So, thx kantry123 for the tips. :)
Hitman
Prevent µTorrent From Self-updating & Self-installing AutomaticallyThis little tip is for those who like to have an extremely tight control over each and every application and program. Here is how I use Windows Firewall Control to prevent µTorrent from dialing home to check for updates - it can get quite disconcerting when µTorrent starts installing / upgrading itself (and sometimes rebooting) in the middle of a torrent downloading / seeding session. Please note - the configuration at the following graphic illustrations overrides the setting on the µTorrent interface:--Check out the following 6 IPs that need to be blocked:--Most firewalls would be able to block with a single rule - however, some firewalls like Windows Firewall / Control need two rules, one Block & another Allow:--67.215.246.203,67.215.246.204,82.221.103.245,82.221.103.246,111.119.15.31,111.119.15.32 :spam: :rtfaq: [New Fix]: "Prevent IDM From Dialing Home"
dcs18
@dcs18, you should create a thread relating to the apps that could be fixed by firewall without cr@cking them.Just waiting for the votes - check the Spoiler at post # 2.There is neither the need to create a thread nor for any vote - let's discuss any application or program that can be restricted with a firewall . . . . . . . . . . . right at this thread, itself. exodius
This IP 162.144.66.67 to block yamicsoft windows 7 manager, probably works on other products.Yep, that is right 162.144.66.67 needs to be blocked to prevent Yamicsoft Windows Manager ( 7 + 8 ) from dialing home and 65.55.57.27 needs to be blocked to prevent it from self-updating. Edit:--Post # 1 and post # 2 updated.Do you mean self updating via "%Program Files%\Yamicsoft\Windows 7 Manager\LiveUpdate.exe" ?If so I think no problem to update, because I already did it , still working right now w/o blacklist. I just add 162.144.66.67 to WFC configuration. Some screenshots:- updating- About page- Close W7Manager then check for update:
