dcs18
OK Finally It Says Registered And Full Version, No More Error Pop-Ups.BTW Any Word Of Caution ? Also How To Update To Future Versions ?No need for any caution - with this method, the User rules!!! You no longer depend on Crackers. B)I was born lazy - from this point onwards you just use the official IDM and install it, your copy will continue to work like genuine, without any User intervention. :D

dcs18
The reason for that .RAR error is in the way WinRAR is configured - my configuration is made keeping the corporate network, in mind.Have just changed my file at MediaFire - if you try to check it out . . . . . . . . . now, you won't find any extraction error. B)Still not sure about the size change, though.

steven36
Really the idea its self of blocking IPs of IDM with a FW has been around as long host blocks.. Chief that owns AppzNet is were I learned it from years ago ... He use to do it with KIS but I think after v8 there firewall for Kis is no longer as good .It has a habit of unblocking rules its self . I would say using Windows FW or Windows IP security manager is the best ways but should work fine with any good FW . I used this method with Comodo blocking ips in IDM years ago and worked fine before . As far as installing 3rd party Firewalls with services running in the background I no longer use them . Comodo is not the great FW it use to be now it installs stuff i dont want . Look n Stop never has been updated in years and WFC should be freeware because all it does is make Windows FW easier to use . To block exe from calling home i use a Freeware App called Windows Firewall App Blocker its portable its more like Look N Stop but uses windows FW . To block IPs I configure Windows FW by hand to block them or I use Portable Block IP Tool and block them in Windows IP security manager. All so this works for other apps that call home were can block them from spying on you and you can use it online still. Windows FW in modern Windows is very strong .Plus if your behind a router it has its own FW .The reason I started Blocking IPS again instead using of host block was because I had it to call home once a few months ago it unregistered and the fact when I tested IDM 6.20 build 1 on a clean install it would not register online so i sniffed out the reason why . And I found out blocking ips instead was the fix. But the FW Fix itself for IDM has been around for ages . I used it before even. This Is a good topic though I dont know how many IPs that's listed IDM really uses to call home . Because when testing with IP sniffer I found 2 only lol . IDM could add a new IP at any time and it could be updated here. That is if they dont get mad and change there protection and serials. But IDM protection has not changed that much in years and years Just the fact they use IPs without domain and IPs with domains were before they just used domain ips . Very Very old Keygens still work . My favorite one is Internet.Download.Manager.6.xx.read.nfo.keygen.0.2-SND . The patch no longer works but the keygen still does very well .You can clean out the registration with the keygen .
Rok
Well, as i said earlier in post number 56, i'm very much satisfied with Windows IP security manager and would recommend it over any third-party firewall. The reason is simple, "with Windows IP Sec you save your rules once, and they work independent of any firewall you use or may use in future." But when you block using Firewall, the rules will go when you change your security software.PS: I have "only" shared my personal view, cos' lots of people were unable to configure their software firewall. Otherwise, kudos to @dcs18 for putting up a nice & detailed tutorial for nSaners.

locoJoe
I just dont see all the fuss for IDM. IMO there are better d/l managers out there, or atleast they are just as good with out all the fuss. For instance DTA FF addon is freeware and works great. Not trying to hijack this thread, just stating my opinion. Now I return you to your regularly scheduled broadcast! :lol:Edit: DTA is strictly for FF, but other good free alternatives do exist.

rudrax
Small question : Is it possible to stay on an infinite trial version with this trick ?No. The trial countdown starts from the day you have installed IDM and it all happens inside IDM. Firewall can do nothing about it.
