Microsoft changed the rollout status of its Windows 11 operating system to broad deployment on January 26, 2022; the new status means that Windows 11 will be offered to all eligible devices ahead of schedule.
 
Windows 11 was released in October 2021 but offered to select devices only initially. The staged rollout starts with devices that are most likely to experience no or little issues. Microsoft's initial plan was to offer Windows 11 to all eligible devices by mid-2022.

In a blog post published earlier today, Microsoft has confirmed that it’s bringing “new experiences” to Windows 11 next month. According to the blog post, Windows 11 users will finally be able to run Android apps from next month. The company will also bring taskbar improvements, redesigned apps, which include Notepad and Media Player. Although not officially confirmed, all these new changes are likely to be part of the first big update of Windows 11.

RARLAB, the developer of the archiving software WinRAR, released WinRAR 6.1 in January 2022. The new version of WinRAR changes the system requirements, as support for Microsoft's Windows XP operating system has been dropped in the version.

Many developers have ended support for Windows XP for their programs already. Programs such as Firefox, Chrome, Audacity, Sumatra or Dropbox do not support the operating system anymore.

The German publishing house, which owns the Bild and Die Welt brands, among others, claimed that adblockers interfere with the presentation of websites in browsers, thus breaching copyright. In a victory for Eyeo, the Hamburg District Court has dismissed the case.

Now LastPass says some alerts of unauthorized logins that users received were sent in error
 
LastPass says there’s no evidence of a data breach following users’ reports that they were notified of unauthorized login attempts, as reported by AppleInsider. The password manager maintains that it was never compromised, and users’ accounts haven’t been accessed by bad actors.
