Gotta be illegal under Aussie law as well, methinks. They can only send non personally identifiable info. But HDD ID is completely personally identifiable. If that is indeed the case, do the mods or somebody know where we can report this? who can hacked :PI've searched for programs and tried with changing my mac address, NIC adapter ID, even flashed the board of an old P4 (Socket 478) PC - that I had to dig out of the garage - with a modded BIOS. Nothing works. So the crap 'bout "Non personally identifiable Hardware config hash" is indeed baloney. Changing the HDD serial though is fraught with danger. Many other programs may get deactivated. I'm certainly not letting a whole host of other programs including Windows and Office be deactivated because of a stupid ad blocker that can easily be replaced more effectively by ABP+Element Hiding+DNT+ seeing as I use FF anyways. But a system wide blocker is really what AM gives you, which is why I'm so into it, otherwise the Element Hiding plug-in is actually so much better at doing it's job than that stupid and annoying pop-up bar that those AM guys came up with :mad2: Hopefully, Palant will come up with a free, stand-alone system wide ad-blocker one of these days incorporating all the best aspects of ABP+Element hiding :P Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
