Did i just see Rupees?

Yup. My ISP is MTNL. :)

Things have changed after that post. The price is same, but I get 1.13Mpbs at day and 1.344Mbps at night.

Good thing that MTNL has launched FTTH (Fiber-to-the-home) on city side. Just few months before it gets available here and few years before it gets affordable. :P

No they dont have that technology yet....its under development

i have personal contacts in the MTNL

they had offered me 888 plan which is unique :showoff:

Good. :)

The news about FTTH:

http://www.dnaindia....es-here_1657328

And here is the crappy plans page:

http://mtnlmumbai.in...d-main/183-ftth

I guess the plans will change a lot soon. If they don't, they are going to get pwned by Hayai Broadband. ;)

You stay in city side? Also, it will take time, a week or two. As mentioned, at the moment it's only available to 100 buildings in the city and will expand in months. :)

I'm sure one will get full speeds. They would be wasting laying out the fiber if they don't provide good bandwidth and attract customers. ;)

Also, in longer run, fiber is far more cheaper than copper. They should know this.

Nah. They (and BSNL) are already getting GPL (if you know what I mean) by the govt./telcom ministry for the losses. But yea, most of it is because of their inefficiency (to put it lightly :P ).

Many speed testing sites provided here. I had a test all the sites . Each showed different results. May be due to the nearest server available. I added all and had an average to my spped . .

I think I'm the in golden middle. :D

For a monthly fee of about 12 dollars i have 10mb/1mb unlimited download and upload respectively, with no other services attached (cable, with the basic package of round 70 programmes is an additional 10 bucks). Good connection, quality support, delivering what they promised. And they keep on improving! Last month, it was only 6mb for the smallest "flat" package, now it's 10! In a couple of months, it may very well be 15!

It's good when you have quality line. I'm on damn m:tel, too, and no, I'm not from Serbia, and I have IPTV with Internet, and I can't get more then 6Mb/s because of line. Plus, I pay all of that 45€.

Cheers ;)
