majithia23
ok , i have run into a bump ..... during install , ESS installer recognizes Norton Internet Security on my computer and warns me of it .this seemed strange and surprising to me , as NIS was installed on my pc 4 months back and i uninstalled it with Norton Removal Tool .so i ignore the warning and let it install .all went fine .i restart the pc to see if all is fine and except for an increase in boot time , the desktop starts up fine ..i reboot into safe mode to use the PureFix , applied and it reports success .restarted , but now the screen got stuck at the log on screen with the message --- " Please wait for the user profile service .. " , for almost 10 minutes , until i force shut down the machine .on restart , the time from log on to desktop is exceptionally long and even after that , the desktop is all grayed out .no wallpapers , no explorer , no icons , nothing .... all grey ..nothing worked and again i had to force shut down it... finally just now did a restore , and now all is fine again ....any ideas ....????before applying the Fix the pc was able to boot to desktop ,but after the fix , it just failed ...!could it be because ESS is detecting Norton ..or is it some thing else ...any head ups please ...... Nothing in the fix would/could cause your PC not to boot PS - the reason i stopped using norton years ago was because of the mess it makes of your system ;)

kered424
PurpleBeanZI accidentally clicked Enable before installing v5, and now it wont let me install. When the status bar says "Installing Drivers", it would then roll back the installation and present me with this screen:This is also preventing me from installing v4. I've tried booting into safe mode and disabling PureFix, but still no luck.Help! Thanks!
