Herobrine
I have a problem in Windows 10 with the Xbox Game Bar overlay. I noticed when I brought it up with Windows key + G and then wanted to go to the settings (cog icon) clicking it either made it just disappear, disappear and reload or what looks like a crash with a wait icon before disappearing off screen. I tried repeating the steps in a fully updated w10 virtual machine and yes it did the same thing. I even tried on my brother's windows 10 that has completely different hardware and setup and the same problem happened. Dism and Sfc found no faults. Checked the needed services were running and they were. As a last resort I uninstalled the game bar and reinstalled it but that didn't fix the problem. Oddly though in my Windows 11 24H2 it worked as it should do. Did MS bork / break this for windows 10 users?

Herobrine
Yeah I do and an x3d one of that. But my brother is on an Intel CPU and as I said it happens to him as well. I spotted a reddit post earlier that was made 5 days ago with the same problem. They blame a windows update. I haven't tried it yet but they said to resolve it uninstall the game bar with a power script. Install the older working version of the Game Bar they linked to and disable the MS Store automatic updates to stop it downloading the buggy new version. I will test later. Herobrine
I think its the same old tactic MS use on end of life versions of windows Ive seen again and again where they bring over parts from the new windows making the old more buggy so people leave it behind quicker. Its just MS history repeating itself right now I feel.
Herobrine
The temporary work around of installing the older v7.325.5191 Game Bar on W10 works for now.
Herobrine
I was fighting with this. Every reboot or what seems when idle it was reinstalling the broken gamebar app. The solution is not ideal but seeing as Win10 is coming to an end and MS pushing broken updates and leaving it like it, it wont be too bad. So if someone has a better idea or knowledge please let me know. After uninstalling the broken GameBar with admin powershell then reinstalling the working one mentioned above I then used Windows Update Blocker v1.8 to block all updates (windows and store) for now. 3 days in and it seems to be holding the fix.
