The links are dead, could you reupload somewhere? Macrium probably thinks they'll make me buy full version if they delay the free one or something.

Note: When you update your v7 to v8 with this it will pop up blank update dialog, which if you do not cancel it will download "update" to v7 and try to downgrade. Seems macrium itself pulled the files, Majorgeeks pointed to the same file and their link was dead too. Wonder why I tested backup and restore in vm it works as well/fast v7 did. Presumably with later v8 updates it'll get resolved, but I ain't clicking on the update while it's blank. Same stuff reported on MG too.

I'm currently running the latest V.8 Home build and tested it yesterday, haven't encountered any issues as of yet.

Nuclear Fallout

Using the v8 edition of reflectdlfull.exe, the PE zip file is guess what, based on 1607!!!!

This MUST be a BIG mistake by Macrium!!!

Point Macrium to “pe10_1709x64.zip” (or “pe10_1709x86.zip”) when creating a bootable ISO based on WinPE10_1709

All files were downloaded in August 2020 via "ReflectDLFull.exe"

P.S.

You can also use the official NEW Macrium Boot Agent for V.8.0. It works after May 20, 2021

All files were downloaded in August 2020 via "ReflectDLFull.exe" ".............HOW (??) to do this , its asking for wim-file(s) , during the resque-setup.

I have downloaded this pe10-zip , no wim-file in it , how to get the boot.wim from this zip-file............???

Also on latest Win10 21H1 , Macrium gave me the 1607PE , I would like my resque in WinPE1709.........!

HOW (??) to do this ,

Disconnect the Internet.

Create Rescue Media -> ISO File -> Advanced -> Choose Base WIM -> [select] Windows PE 10 (WADK) -> Options -> [check] “64-bit” -> Ok -> ISO File -> Build

At the request of the Program “Creating the rescue media ...” click “Browse” and point to the file “pe10_1709x64.zip” (460 Mb) that you downloaded

" so I did , I got ; " no wim-file" !

I used the boot.wim from the 20H2-ISO , Macrium downloaded another file(s) , now I got a new resque-CD with "WinPE 1709"  ( instead of WinPE 1607 , if not using any boot.wim files )

Still wondering which (!) boot-CD I should use ; the WinPE1607 or the WinPE1709.......??

Any idea/advice .......??

Macrium does not prohibit the creation of MacriumRescue.iso based on any WinPE10 1607/1709/1809/1903/2004
Macrium officially used WinPE10-1607 for ver.7.0 -7.1 and WinPE10-1709 for ver.7.2-7.3
Macrium will probably also officially use WinPE10 1709 for version 8.0, although I have no exact information.
From my practice:
I have been using MacriumRescue 7.0.2098.iso based on WinPE10-1607 for several years to backup Windows 7x64 SP1 PRO (WD Gold hard drive). I didn't have any problems.
Unfortunately, I could not make a backup with MacriumRescue 7.0.2098.iso for my new laptop HONOR PRO 16.1 (Windows 10x64 20H1 + SSD NVMe WD)
I made a backup of my new laptop with MacriumRescue 7.3.5672.iso based on WinPE10-1709 and also with MacriumRescue 7.3.5672.iso based on WinPE10-2004

Ok , I see........so , it does not matter which PE-resque-CD you are using ( 1607,1709 , all fine) ?

I downloaded a resque-ISO from one of this forum-members ( Redeploy activated !) , after burning/rebooting , it appeared to be a WinRE-1809 !

So , now I wonder if we can use a WinRE-CD on a PC without a RE( recovery) -partition.............or do you have to use a WinPE-CD in this case ??

Just try it... if you create an ISO WinRe on your computer it should boot.

WinPE is more suitable if you want to boot multiple computers with one ISO (my experience).

WinPE10-1607 and 1709 differ only in the network settings.
From 1709 MS has changed something there

" if you create an ISO WinRe on your computer it should boot"...............not possible , I dont have a recovery-partition , so its always a WinPE-CD !

The network-setting dont matter for the backup/recovery , good ! , so it does not matter which PE-version you will use .

I can use my Resque-CD on multiple PCs , other problem ; what about the drivers , when using PE-CD on older PC ??

@Pete12

WinPE comes with standard drivers and if you need something exotic you have to create a new ISO and add the drivers.

@New Members always use the report button whenever you see something needed staff attention because this is the only channel we could tell what needed to be fixed. We can't go read through at least 500 daily posts.

Thank you! My message is inaccurate. This is the correct official link, but the information on this link is incorrect. Macrium will probably fix this in the future.

1. You cannot use someone else's MacriumRescue.iso if it is based on WinRE. Correct only on the basis of WinPE.
2. If you are using someone else's MacriumRescue.iso then you will have a "backup file creation time" error if this MacriumRescue.iso was created in a different time zone.
There is no problem to create MacriumRescue.iso yourself.
