Microsoft releases Windows 10 build 21364.1000 to test the servicing pipeline

 

 

Microsoft has released a new build for Windows Insiders in the Dev channel. The build was pushed to validate the servicing pipeline and hence brings no new features. Microsoft also clarified that the update does not bring fixes for any know issues.

 

This is not the first time Microsoft has released a build with no new changes. The Redmond giant on occasion pushes these cumulative updates to test the servicing pipeline and it is a legitimate thing that needs to be done.

 

That said, earlier this week, the company did release a build with new features to Windows Insiders in the Dev channel. The Build 21364 came from the co_release branch and added support for Linux GUI apps through the Windows Subsystem for Linux. Apart from that, the company also added task classification for Microsoft Edge in the Task Manager as well as Eco mode. The idea behind Eco mode is to reduce the system resources used by an app and should come in handy for laptop users.

 

Lastly, yesterday Microsoft also announced that it will start rolling out the News and Interest widget to Windows 10 users soon. The widget will add news, weather, watchlists and more to the taskbar. However, Microsoft still plans to use Edge to open links from the News and Interest widget.
