GeForce RTX 3080 Ti shipment spotted in the wild before alleged May 2021 launch

An eagle-eyed Facebook user has photographed what appears to be a mother lode of MSI GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Ventus 3X OC graphics cards. An entire pallet of said hardware is en route to the U.S., where it is expected to hit shelves after its tentative launch sometime in mid-May.

The last time we heard about Nvidia's GeForce 3080 Ti was when its tentative launch date was pushed back a second time to mid-May. That date appears to be accurate if a new sketchy-looking photo from Facebook (via Videocardz) is anything to go by. A Hong Kong resident has posted what appears to be a pallet of GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics cards ready to be shipped to the U.S.

It also reconfirms several leaks from earlier which said that the GeForce 3080 Ti would ship with 12GB of VRAM. The variant in question here is the MSI GeForce 3080 Ti Ventus 3X OC. It takes anywhere between 30 to 40 days for a cargo ship to reach the U.S. from Hong Kong. Therefore, the graphics card should make it to the market just in time for launch. Those looking for restocks of existing Ampere cards can breathe a sigh of relief too. There is an entire lot of GeForce RTX 3090 cards alongside the RTX 3080 Ti.

However, there is no sign of its lower-specced cousin- the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti anywhere, but that is understandable, given that its launch date also got delayed by a few weeks. Then again, we can rest easy knowing that the GeForce 3080 Ti is real and will hit stores at some point. The problem, however, is availability. If Nvidia's recent statement about the graphics card shortage persisting through 2021 is true, then it will very likely end up like its peers.
