Karlston Posted February 2, 2021 Share Posted February 2, 2021 Apple pulls iCloud 12 for Windows 10 with Keychain sync feature Apple has pulled iCloud 12 for Windows 10 from the Microsoft Store for what is believed to be issues with their new Chrome iCloud Keychain password synchronization feature. On January 26th, Apple released iCloud 12 with a new 'Passwords' feature, that when enabled, prompts users to install an 'iCloud Passwords' extension to synchronize and automatically fill in passwords saved in the iCloud Keychain. New iCloud 12 Password feature Source: Macrumors.com It wasn't until yesterday that Apple released the iCloud Passwords extension for Chrome, and since then, users have been reporting numerous problems with the extension. These problems range from blank white boxes to enter the password, broken 2-factor authentication, and other issues. iCloud Passwords extension reviews Today, Apple mysteriously pulled iCloud 12 for Windows 10 from the Microsoft Store and downgraded the available version to iCloud 11.6.32.0, as shown below. The current iCloud version available in Microsoft Store As the iCloud Passwords extension requires iCloud 12, and it is no longer available, the extension displays a confusing error telling users to download iCloud for Windows. When they do so, the extension continues to display this same message as the only available version is 11.6.32.0. BleepingComputer has contacted Apple with questions on why iCloud for Windows version 12 was removed but has not heard back.
