Karlston
Details of the 15-inch Surface Laptop 3 leaked: Specs, price, and all the things that you need to know We reported earlier that Microsoft will introduce a 15-inch Surface Laptop 3 at its October 2 event and the 15-inch model will be powered by AMD CPU. Many argued that the tilt towards AMD CPU is a step in the right direction to make the 15-inch model more affordable. However, new leaks suggest that the lowering of the price point may not be the only purpose. According to Winfuture, Microsoft will be introducing six different 15-inch Surface Laptop 3. The base model is expected to be powered by the AMD Ryzen 5 3550U coupled with 8GB of RAM and will cost you $999. There will be another entry-level Surface Laptop 3 that will be equipped with AMD Ryzen 7 3750U and 8GB of RAM, the pricing is expected to be somewhere around $1,099. The price can go even higher. Microsoft has also planned to introduce Surface Laptop 3 with Hexa-core AMD CPU and 12GB of RAM. You’ll have two variants in this category and depending on the CPU and SSD, pricing is said to be $1,399 for less powerful Hexa-core CPU and $1,599 for a better Hexa-core CPU and SSD. The pricing of the 15-inch Surface Laptop 3 can go as high as $2,399. The report also claimed that Microsft might also launch two models with Octa-core SoCs and 16GB of RAM. In this category, customers will have to pay $1,999 for lower SSD capacity and $2,399 for higher SSD capacity and better Octa-core CPU. Lowering of the price point is definitely a valid point, but the addition of these many variants clearly suggests that Microsoft wants to reach out to more users who are in the need of 15-inch laptop. Do let us know what you think of Microsoft’s new friendship with AMD. luisam
Somehow I find a 15" tablet more like a portable TV set! Actually for this size and price tag the best choice is a laptop! Worth to mention that laptops have a so called "tablet" mode so you have the best of both worlds! Point is that tablets became the instrument for people with absolute lack of "computer knowledge" who still can boast about hating computers.
