Oh yeah, you're responsible. Thank you for the share, it works for me!!! :D

Just completed a manual defragment of all my partitions, followed by an offline pass

:( Oops!!! The damn thing refuses to go the manual way once again. The new *pills* do not work for me.Never mind, we'll continue searching for other alternatives.

I tried a few days ago and it`s a fake crack ( Raphael) the second link ( and 1st also doesn`t work). Only Betamaster can do the right thing...

Cheers

PS: I use Ultimate Defrag 2008 (v.2.0.55) and it`s good enough.

You mean that blue one did not make me forget all my troubles? Or the red one wanting me to conquest anything

Actually - I feel that you are a bit lost here regarding a fix for DisKeeper 2010. BetaMaster has not posted an updated keygen for it.

Also sonny has this to say:

At the time being, the situation seems hopeless.

First of all, a genuine trial version behaves in an UNPREDICTIBLE way with manual defragmentations.

( I refer to a unique system partition C: which is 30 GB and retrieved several times from an Image. )

Besides, once the installation is complete, no means to change this behaviour.

Either you"ll get a detailed Volume Map, with a job report at the end ( healthy, degraded, and so on ).

Or numerical data and NO available job report!

Job reports will be accessible only after an analysis completion.

Such facts prove that the new version, far from being a masterpiece, looks like a BETA one,

owing to a whimsical behaviour.

Now, it's not so hard to succed manual defragmentations whith a cracked version,

just for a while however ( the involved protection is thorough ).

How to proceed in that aim?

A possible way is to prepare a folder named Diskeeper with a cracked TAB.DLL inside

( TAB.DLL is the UNIQUE file patched with BetaMaster ),

to paste it in Program Files, and to install the program in:

C:\Program Files\Diskeeper\

The cracked DLL will not be overwriten ( the PATCH button of the Keymaker will remain grey ).

Hence, no need to end DKService.exe before registering.

The lines above refer only to Installers called Diskeeper2010-EnterpriseServer-30day.exe

and Diskeeper2010-ProPremier-30day.exe.

Both will produce stricly identical MSI files in your temporary folder after a launxh.

Such MSI files alllow to carry out an installation from the beginning up to the end,

but will tell nothing about the Edition you're gonna try:

only Diskeeper 2010 Pro will appear in the upper left part of the window,

with an easy but FICTITIOUS conversion with BetaMaster's Keymaker.

Just a suggestion: forget this program!

For the time being...anyway!

I did give 'Ultimate Defrag 2008 (v.2.0.55)' a shot today, it was taking forever to get the job done. :(

With the defragment just half done, I went back to 'Diskeeper 2009 (EnterpriseServer) 13.0 Build 844' and it blazed away at all my partitions and external HDD within 20 minutes. ^_^

I don't mind trying 'Ultimate Defrag 2008 (v.2.0.55)' yet another time when I get a full day to myself.

If you configure it well and allow to do it's work, Ultimate Defrag will make your HDD fly. ;)

That was the underlying idea, but far from flying it refused to even crawl. :(

As for configuration, had borrowed heavily from shought's tutorial (btw, I'm a software guy, myself.) B)

Like I mentioned earlier, shall be putting Ultimate Defrag one last time through it's paces when I get that full day off under different parenthesis ('cause I'm convinced as a manual defragmenter it's second to none.)

Meanwhile, hope someone succeeds in popping Diskeeper 2010. :)

Try consolidation in UD. ;)

Make sure you know that UD manual clearly specifies that if you use any other defrag, it will ruin the efforts that UD has taken for you.

Yeah and if you do the defrag for Performance.. and its the first time.. it is going to move everything to the inside and then back to the outside ( or wherever you choose.. and selected ) in the order you selected if your doing for Recency.. Fragment of files only should take a matter a few minutes.. my weekly takes 2 minutes.. unless I have a large fresh installation of something..

After hearing all of the BS about the patcher/keygens and crap.. and using Diskeeper.. I actually shredded my archive last night.. I think I may just wait until this comes a long a bit.. I personally didn't like the UI either.. The placement of the files on the drive looked to be okay.. but it did leave a lot of room out at the edge of the disc..which would be fine f it was reserved for something.. but when you have a system that doesn't need it and it could be used for speed of the file system as it stands .. it becomes a waste..

What happened to the RapidShare downloads that were here for Diskeeper.2010.14.0.Build.896x64ENG.rar and Diskeeper.2010.14.0.Build.896ENG.rar? Is something wrong with these files?

@ DKT27 & heath28m

Hey guys, thanks for your valuable inputs. Sorry for the late response (was out of town.) :P

I had, in fact already done all that you've advised (remember, I was following shought's tutorial.) Had tried everything on 3 different systems. It did not take off on 2 systems and had to be subsequently uninstalled after some never ending slow-downs from both these systems (including mine.) However, on the third system it's been functioning quite satisfactorily (hope to report back after some time how it fares against Diskeeper.)

@ Freddyfre

Thought you'd posted some new working link to Diskeeper 2010 Pro Premier (perhaps, I'm mistaken.) Last night, got my hands on a pre-activated release (shall be checking whether it's really working.)

That's what I saw and downloaded. There were x64 and x86 RapidShare links for pre-activated releases. Now he replaced his post with "where BM" so I don't know what he really posted now.

Yeah, after posting the preactivated one he must've tried it and realized it doesn't work and reached out for BetaMaster.

BTW, didn't work for me either.

Disk Keeper allows for a few things over other programs.. and I am gong to mention that only. Management for SSD drives, also offers i-FASST.. Also allows for something similar for deterring fragmentation of written files to your main HD..( can't remember what it is called ) leaves and open area for quick access and read/write for the drive.. Places System Operating Files in the optimized area of the drive.. Removes archives from this areas well .. trying to keep fastest areas for quick access to other file.. ( which actually is done by other programs )

So essentially it run a service in the background to help prevent fragmentation, tries to RAM cache ( if I am not mistaken ) most recently used and currently used files to help speed of access and improve HD life cycle.. and micro-manages your files structure. Good comprehensive approach. Designed to try to cut down on defragmentation time, read write cycles, and attempts to speed delivery of files from Drive to processor.. Offers management for USB Drives ( not always available for some programs )

Correct me if I am wrong here.. Has an advantage in a way over other programs yet the UI really isn't the best design IMO.. Could use a little more thought and time..not to mention its too large for most screens..Other than that it does exactly what it says it is supposed to do.. Can't really tell its there..Takes time to get going on boot.. BUT I did have to completely refrag my drive with Ultimate Defrag ( for recency ) when I uninstalled.. with low volatility on my system in the file structure.. I think I am doing fine with Ultimate Defrag. I might use this if I had a bottleneck in my system some where, or high file system volatility.. So I think this may your product depending upon your personal needs..and setup... for some it can truly speed the access and lower maintenance, as well as save the life of your drive..while for others and what they do it my do just the opposite.. but this is true of most of the programs on the market today. Still though .. I think that this would definitely be in my top two programs for this area.

Hmm. Thanx for the info. For Diskeeper lovers, you should use Ultimate Defrag till the time medicine problem gets solved.
