The AchieVer
Microsoft Releases Another Microsoft Edge Dev Update for Windows 10 Microsoft has released another Dev build of the Chromium-based Microsoft Edge browser for Windows 10. This time, the focus is mostly on bug fixes, so you won’t be getting any new features after installing Microsoft Edge Dev build 76.0.176.1. The only noticeable change is the increased height of the rows in the address bar dropdown, but it goes without saying that many may not even spot the change in the new version. On the other hand, the changelog includes several important fixes, and you can check out the full release notes in the box after the jump. One of them resolves a bug causing the Microsoft Edge browser window to turn black or go blank when watching a video, an issue that obviously made watching YouTube clips quite a painful experience. Then, this release also addressed a glitch that caused some websites to hang during loading, as well as the broken first-run experience that sometime didn’t render properly.Updates released at a much faster pace than anticipatedThe Chromium-based Microsoft Edge is currently available on Windows 10 as part of two different branches, namely Canary and Dev. While the Canary builds are updated every day, the Dev channel is supposed to receive further tweaks once a week, albeit Microsoft was in a rush this time to update this version. “Although it’s only been a short time since the last update to the Dev Channel, we still have some fixes and improvements that are notable enough to mention,” Microsoft’s David Rubino explains. Needless to say, updates are more than welcome given that Microsoft Edge remains a work-in-progress, and users are obviously recommended to update to the latest build as soon as possible to get all these fixes and new features. The AchieVer
Microsoft Edge Insider Dev Channel gets a new bug fixing update and official macOS release Microsoft has released a new update for the Edge Insider Dev Channel. The build 76.0.176.1 fixes several bugs in the new Chromium-based browser, and this new version also increases the height of the rows in the address bar dropdown. It’s worth noting that the Canary channel is still on the build 76.0.176.0, so the Dev channel is currently slightly far ahead. You can check out everything that’s fixed and improved in the build 76.0.176.1 below: Fixed an issue where the whole window sometimes goes blank or black when playing a video. Fixed an issue where certain webpages hang as soon as they load. Fixed an issue where the toggle to sync favorites is disabled even though the master sync toggle is turned on. Fixed an issue where a “Microsoft Edge stopped working” dialog sometimes appears even though Edge is still running. Fixed an issue where the wrong account picture is sometimes used when a user signs in with multiple accounts. Fixed an issue where video control popups are cut off if they’re near the edge of the page. Fixed an issue where video control buttons may overlap each other on small videos. Fixed an issue where entries on the history page get cut off when the window is at a narrow width. Increased the height of the rows in the address bar dropdown. Fixed an issue where the first run experience didn’t render properly. Microsoft also announced today that the Dev Channel is now officially live on macOS. As a reminder, the Dev channel is on a weekly release cycle, while the Canary channel gets new updates almost every day. A Beta channel for the new Edge Insider browser is also coming soon on Windows 10 and macOS, and this new branch will get new updates every six weeks. In the meantime, we remind you that it’s entirely possible to run the Canary and Dev versions side-by-side on your PC or Mac. Source
