It’s that time of the month once again, as Microsoft is getting ready to ship the March 2019 cumulative updates to Windows 10 devices.

This month’s Patch Tuesday takes place tomorrow on March 12, and Microsoft will release updates to resolve vulnerabilities in its operating systems and other products, like the Microsoft Office productivity suite, while also addressing a series of other bugs related to performance and usability.

While the rollout will also include monthly rollups for Windows 7 and 8.1, all eyes will be on the new cumulative updates for Windows 10, especially on the October 2018 Update release which should further refine the experience with this feature update.

The October update, also known as Windows 10 version 1809, was published in early October, then pulled only a few days later, and re-released next month due to a critical bug potentially causing the removal of user files.Updates for all Windows 10 versionsSince then, Microsoft has been particularly focused on resolving the latest bugs in the operating system as more devices installed it, and the March 2019 Patch Tuesday doesn’t make any exceptions. As a result, expect further bug fixes in addition to the typical security patches.

Depending on the when Microsoft rolls out the next Windows 10 feature update, this could be the last Patch Tuesday before the launch of the April 2019 Update. Microsoft is currently in the process of finalizing Windows 10 version 1903, and the RTM build should be signed off as soon as this month.

As usual, cumulative updates raise particular concerns for IT admins, as the previous releases encountered installation issues and caused other issues on the Windows 10 devices where they were installed. As we do every month, we’ll detail the contents of the new cumulative updates tomorrow and keep an eye on the main feedback channels for any possible issues experienced by users.
