YouTube users have been confronted with error messages as they tried to login, upload or watch content on the hugely-popular video platform. It appears that the popular video streaming site went offline at around 2.20am BST, with thousands unable to access content. Many are reporting seeing 'Error 500' when attempting to access content. Social media sites have been flooded with complaints, with streams of YouTube users in the US and UK saying the Google-owned site was not working for them. Independent website Down Detector, which measures social mentions around a certain topic to track outages across the globe, shows users reporting problems across the UK, Europe and the United States. YouTube appears to be down for many users across the globe. Many who are trying to access the video sharing platform have complained 500 Internal Server Error messages and 503 Network Error messages popping on the screen. The company has taken cognizance of the issue and is working to resolve the issue. In a statement on Twitter, the company said, “Thanks for your reports about YouTube, YouTube TV and YouTube Music access issues. We’re working on resolving this and will let you know once fixed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and will keep you updated.” YouTube Says It Is Working on the Issue, But Hasn’t Identified the Cause of the Problem YouTube hasn’t identified the problem yet, but did acknowledge on Twitter that they are working on the issue. They wrote: “Thanks for your reports about YouTube, YouTube TV and YouTube Music access issues. We’re working on resolving this and will let you know once fixed.
