GET A NEW MOTHERBOARD

Last test: Disconnect all fans, all SSD/HDD etc.

If still cannot open for example the BIOS then you really need a new motherboard.

Theoretically might also the CPU or GPU died instead, but that really never happened yet in my life.

Is an option for sure...

I would try to reset the BIOS and test with all the devices disconnected.

If you remove the memory and power the machine it produces any beeps?

I already purchased the new system. My friend took the computer with him and I shipped the parts to his house. He's going to put it together this weekend.

Well, I would have liked you trying to fix it. But no beeps or message shows that motherboard can be a reason here.

My friend brought over my computer and I can boot into windows but the mouse and keyboard don't work. I used a windows install from a flash drive but the mouse and keyboard won't work in that either. Anyone know a tool to load and unload drivers from a flash drive?

You have to install the new chipset drivers!

Per default USB2 devices work usually always, only check maybe your BIOS settings.

But if you use some wireless & weird extra drivers they cannot work without re-installing! Also cleaning the USB firmware caches might be needed. I recommend only good wired devices.

One problem of wireless is: What's first there, egg or chicken?? ;)

I'd have disconnected just the back chassis fan, which was probably shorted (you mentioned it no longer worked).

But it was probably the PSU ...

No, the fan and psu work. It was the motherboard.

You tried cleaning the ram with a pencil eraser, if you remove the GPU and put the monitor directly to the CPU, the source will start the fan?
I had a similar problem, that I did not start the CPU and it restarted constantly and after a lot of watching it was the CPU that died, because all the fans were starting, both those in the box and the GPU, the source, I did not let reinstall Windows
Test and luck .....
