Windows 10 will soon let you recover your Microsoft Account password from the lockscreen

Microsoft is finally adding one of the much-requested features of Windows 10. The software maker is currently testing a new feature in the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update with Windows Insiders which will make it much easier to recover Microsoft Accounts.

In the latest preview of Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, Microsoft has added an “I forgot my password” option to those using passwords to lock their computers. Users using Windows Hello or a pin will also be able to access the new password reset option by going to the other sign-in options.

Once you start the password reset process, Windows 10 takes you to the OOBE where Cortana will help you reset the password. It will first ask you to verify yourself using your secondary email, your phone number, or Microsoft Authenticator. Once verified, you will be able to reset the password and that’s pretty much it.

While this may sound like a minor feature, it’s something that’s been missing in Windows 10 for a while. Users with a Microsoft Account previously had to use another device to reset the password for their account which is quite annoying, but that will no longer be the case with the upcoming Windows 10 Fall Creators Update that’s releasing sometime around September of this year.

Another feature that never mattered in Microsoft's 42 years that benefits Microsoft more then it does the end user ..It's not a smartphone were you should have too sign in to buy and download apps . Microsoft gets a cut from everything you buy from that store and with a account  they can tie a PC back too you . I never signed in too Microsoft too use Windows in the 16 years i been on the internet and I'm not going start now.  You can tell the features are made by a bunch fanboy techies  always adding stuff normal people don't care about ..They need too worry about making windows stable because they ran out of good ideas back after they stop adding new features too Windows 7 so insiders make up silly ones we really don't need.. If it were a  idea that didn't benefit Microsoft they would not even bother too add it.

So this sure dont sell me on Windows 10 redstone 3, only thing that will sell me on it is can they get most Windows 10 users on it very fast ! If it's like Redstone 2 were a new version of windows 10 will be out by the time the migrate 70% too it i want no part of it . I'm not impressed at all and they need too get there act together  and stop releasing betas to the consumer . I'm not going too play lab rat for a multi billion dollar company .
