CrAKeN
Microsoft's Fluent Design in Calculator app Microsoft announced at Build today that Windows 10 Redstone 3, officially called the Falls Creators Update, will come with a new design language that the company calls “Fluent Design System.” For long-time Microsoft watchers, the Fluent Design System is the official name of Project NEON, a feature that’s already in development and which we’ve seen in several Windows 10 app. Project NEON is a major visual overhaul of the operating system that includes new animations, visual effects, and other interface improvements like transparency and blur. Microsoft has already started work on Project NEON and several pre-installed Windows 10 apps have already received updates in this regard, though the new feature is supposed to become widely available with the release of the Redstone 3 update in the fall. Apps like Calculator and Groove Music already come with transparency and blur effect, but as work on Windows 10 Falls Creators Update advances, Microsoft will also add new animations to make the interface of the operating system look and feel more modern. The next OS update is projected to launch in September, at least for insiders when the final RTM build should be shipped. The production ring should get it shortly after that, most likely in October. Insiders will get a taste of the Fluent Design System in the coming builds of Windows 10, as Microsoft has started work at full speed on new features.
