Fall Creators Update to be ready in September

Microsoft has just confirmed at the Build developer conference that the Redstone 3 update will land in September as “Fall Creators Update,” a name that the company says continues the focus on creators.

Terry Myerson, head of the operating system group, emphasized that the new operating system update is supposed to continue rolling out features aimed at creators, so expect features specifically focused on 3D, VR, and touch input.

Though no details have been provided on the release date, it’s not rocket science to figure out that the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is projected to launch… in the fall. Microsoft previously confirmed that the Redstone 3 update is due in September, but that’s most likely the date when the new operating system should be ready for insiders, with the production ring will get it shortly after that.

Windows 10 Story Remix

One of the new features arriving the Falls Creators Update is called Windows Story Remix and it is a storytelling app that transforms the photos and videos in Windows 10 with a new video creator.

The new feature helps “relive your memories or create your own,” Microsoft said today. “Story Remix is fun and will create stories that you love.”

The app will allow you to create stories from scratch by selecting people, objects, and pretty much any type of content that you want to add. It automatically creates stories based on your photo collections, but you can also save your projects and work on them at a later time.

Pen and ink support is also available, and users can add notes right on videos in order to get full editing control.

Story Remix is built as a universal app and will be available on Android and iPhone as well. There’s no mention of a Windows phone app, but since it’s universal, it should be capable of running on Windows 10 Mobile devices as well.

Maybe for the file manager it wasn't as good as our current explorer.exe but this folder view for the pictures is so damn better, bigger and fluid photo thumbnail sizes, touch friendly, new look.

Sigh... "Fall Creators Update"?

1. "Fall" is "Autumn" outside the US and Canada (?)

2. When it's Fall/Autumn in the Northern hemisphere, it's SPRING in the Southern hemisphere

3. An Update from Creators is properly spelled "Creators' Update" (or "Creator's Update" if it's from only one Creator)

The usual stellar attention to detail from Microsoft, the company that wants all schools to use its Windows 10 S....

Something unambiguous like "September Creators' Update" is beyond them it seems. Twice!
