Batu69
Many Windows Insiders reported the recent slew of updates released last week, caused their computers to use more memory than before. As a result, Windows’ interface sometimes hangs and pauses. One user explains that before he installed the updates, he had 4 GB of free memory out of a total of 8 GB. After installing the updates, meaning the latest Insider build and cumulative updates KB3197954 and KB3199986, there is only 1.5 GB of free memory left. Despite using various workarounds, such as clean booting, creating a new account, running chkdsk, SFC, and dism, and uninstalling KB3197954 and going back to 14393.321, he couldn’t fix the bug. the recent slew of updates released on or around 10.20.16, have caused windows to use a lot more memory than it did before. there have been no software or hardware changes to my system. before the updates, I would have around 4 Gb’s of 8 Gb’s free. now I have 1.5 Gb’s free out of 8 Gb’s. and this is causes interfaces hangs and pauses in windows. I tried clean booting and the amount of free memory was still less than it should have been. […] uninstalling KB3197954 and going back to 14393.321 which was installed after the update in question, but the amount of memory used did not decrease.[…] After additional detective work, the user who reported the problem managed to identify the culprit: Diskeeper 16 Pro. This tool’s role is to boost Windows laptops and workstations’ performance. However, judging by these recent user reports, Diskeeper 16 Pro is actually consuming all the available memory, causing UI pauses and OS delays. I went in to Disk Keeper and turned of the auto defrag and other features (intelliwrite, smart caching, etc.) and then told it to start a manual operation on both my drives and then I stopped it, so that no defrag process was in progress. in less than a minute, my available memory went from 1.6 to 5.1 Gb. I re enabled the disk keeper features and my available memory was gradually consumed again. What is surprising about this forum thread is that 1K Insiders viewed it. Most likely, not all of them use Diskeeper 16 Pro. This means that they’re also experiencing missing memory issues, probably caused by a different factor. straycat19
I wouldn't call myself a windows 10 hater, more like a microsoft hater. I hate that they are foisting software on people that is no better than beta at best but acts like alpha releases. I hate they 'fixed' it so you really can't tweak it to your liking and keep those settings since every update can totally wipe out any personalizations you have done to the OS. I hate that microsoft has lied repeatedly to the public about how secure windows 10 is supposed to be when it has all the faults of the previous versions and some that don't even exist in previous versions. I hate they don't thoroughly test their updates before they are released. They have such tight control of windows 10 that there is no reason for an update not to work. I hate that they think to have a secure OS you need to have all their updates, something that has been proven to be a lie many times over. You can't even get a straight answer out of Microsoft because the same question will be answered differently depending on whom you are talking to at the time. And they still don't have the battery problem fixed in the Microsoft Surface Pro 3, even though they have released version 4. Microsoft wants to be the big brother, but has ended up being a little sister in a whorehouse, pimping her product with a hefty dose of STD. virge
To date, i have installed Windows 10 enterprise x64 on dozens of home personal desktops and laptops with few to little issues whatsoever. The big thing about Windows 10 over Windows 7/8 is that it makes older slow computers run fast again. Yes, you have to turn off a shitload of privacy items, nuke Windows Edge, Windows Defender and Windows OneDrive. After tweaking a few options here and there, it runs nearly perfect. You may hate Windows 10 for whatever reasons, but I can tell you for sure, the Enterprise version rocks when it comes to stability over previous releases. Kalju
This is a really funny. Don't have any changes...absolutely nothing have not changed. I have here three very different pc-s. For example, at the moment is in use about 5 years old Dell, 4GB of RAM and an Intel Core 2 Duo T6570 And of course, not opened only one window, but much more. It seems that someone is paid well for causing a panic. And it is done quite regularly and seems.
