Batu69
Concept imagines a modern version of the file manager The concept has tabs and a hamburger menu The Windows 10 Anniversary Update is already here, and unfortunately for those who wanted to see an overhauled version of File Explorer in this release, the new update doesn’t bring anything new on this front. As a result, all hopes are now that something could change in the next big release codenamed Redstone 2. But what exactly could change in File Explorer? A concept created by reddit user MorphicSn0w shows exactly what Windows 10 adopters expect from the old-school file manager integrated into the operating system. Without a doubt, the tab support is what makes people drool over concepts like this one, and although this is one of the top requests since forever, Microsoft doesn’t seem to be too interested in developing such an update for File Explorer. And this is kind of odd, especially given the fact that there are already many third-party file managers out there using tabs, and more and more users are tempted to jump ship just because File Explorer doesn’t come with such functionality. Microsoft still tight-lipped on the future of File Explorer A hamburger menu icon is also available in this section, and it could provide access to specific folders or settings on the computer while at the same time bringing File Explorer in line with the other Windows 10 apps. While there’s clearly demand for File Explorer improvements, Microsoft still doesn’t say a single thing about the future of the app. There were voices from within the company suggesting that some updates could arrive for File Explorer, and everyone hoped to see them included in the Anniversary Update, but since they’re not here, many are wondering whether Microsoft is actually planning to ever overhaul the app. In the meantime, third-party apps such as Total Commander come with so many more features, so in case you’re disappointed with the old-school File Explorer, you might want to give this one or the other file managers a try. This is what Total Commander, a top Windows file manager, looks like Article source

heyyahblah
Oh for the love of god, this looks like shit. They already screwed up the Start Menu. It was better pre-RS1 now it just looks like ass. Now this to file explorer ... why? Another bland paint job? What's wrong with the 8.1 ribbon? That ribbon is so useful, so colorful, so vibrant. What the hell is this? 1080 GTX graphics cards and i7 6700k processors and fucking WINDOWS 10 is using a 256 color scheme. Seriously? What is this, Windows 3.11? Windows 95. Max 256 colors? Give me a break. I guess ugly looking plain shit is the new fad these days. Sad times. All this advanced fast hardware and no aero, no glass, all basic, plain, bland. What is this "classic explorer" because my PC can't handle the colors? too many processors? i7 and 32GB ram not enough? what a bunch of retards. pure retards. tiliarou
You can theme your windows and add back aero and other fancy useless effect if you want... Although I admit that they should at least give us the choice between some sets of UI, why do they have to impose the simple and non transparent theme whereas they developed aero starting in win7 ?? Personally I don't really care if windows uses "256 colors" and no glass and no aero, as long as it performs butter smooth and that it doesn't take ressources for games. They should put aero and all effect on the desktop and stop them when you launch a game or when you want to render something so as not to use ressources. heyyahblah
My whole point is that there are NO COLORS !!!! What is the point of GUI (GRAPHICAL USER INTERFACE) if there is NO COLOR ??? Might as well GO BACK TO DOS and CGA graphics or HERCULES MONOCHROME! BLACK AND WHITE, that is what that looks like, with some green. CGA GRAPHIC FILE EXPLORER!! WAY TO STEP BACK TO 1982 MICROSHIT!
