Intel display driver issue

I have a lenovo yoga 300 11IBR laptop running windows 10 x64. I have updated the display driver to latest one and it was working without any issues till today. Today I noticed that the driver is not functioning. Then I checked device manager and found following error.

Now the condition is, if I instal the driver again, it works. But after restart, the same problem persists.

Two things can be tried here. first, you can uninstall and try using the driver designed for w8.1, it works out for many people. if this works u will have to disable driver auto download otherwise, the driver will again update and cause problems. the second is to use the Intel Driver update utility: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html

it will auto detect any changes required and suggest them.

Did you disable the option which allow Windows to install a driver from Windows Update ? Inside the System (in the tab about Hardware), you need to check if the both checkbox are set to no. I don't have an english version but basically, the first one say's : No, I rather choose manually and the second : (No) never install any drivers via Windows Update.

Under Windows 10 (LTSB), by default, it's the opposite and like Ice Forg said, that's could explain you trouble.

 

Also, you didn't mention which edition of Windows you got. It could be noticeable specially for a solution via gpedit.msc.

 

PS : With an englsih, I will add the (full) path (for system) but I believe, you can use that (as shorcut) : "C:\Windows\System32\SystemPropertiesAdvanced.exe"

I can access GPEdit.msc as I am running windows 10  ent. LTSB.

Windows update failed to update this driver multiple times, then when I manually updated it, Windows wasn't able to recognize that it had been updated and still had the driver update in the list. I just ended up hiding the update.

try to uninstall the driver and use the one in your model page and see if it fixes your problem

 

If it fixes your problem you will need to disable windows update since in Win10 you can't hide updates anymore

You can disable driver only updates in windows 10 still even in redstone

My Gateway AMD i use to have do this to install other drivers because the ones on windows updates were broke ...They fixed it  ..But my Dell with Intel. Intel has newer drivers that work for me than what are on windows updates so i disable it and update. :)

I forgot about disable drivers updates, i was talking about you can't hide updates anymore, Thanks for letting me remember :lol:

Intel drivers on clean install of windows 10 Redstone sign off  claim they didn't install when they did from windows updates ,but when i checked it  the drivers on windows updates were outdated for most everything Driver Easy whipped it right into shape..  For  My Gateway it was more easy i used amd display drivers from windows updates and chipset drivers from amd website  . also i checked it with driver easy and done those too lol.

Funny thing i got a customer laptop now after this post who want me to install drivers for him and every time i try to install Intel i get a black screen and i have to go to safe mode to uninstall it so i can open the system again

 

tried to install the driver from model page also tried to install it from DriverPack Solution same problem, now trying windows update and will see what will happen

 

it's Intel 3000 model

so there are 3 options

1. return to windows 8

2. use the microsoft basic render device (currently it is only suports openGL 1.0 and directx 9) however the linux driver can be ported to windows allowing more openGL support

3. try adding the intel HD 3000 to the 3500 driver .inf if the HD 3000 code is still present in the driver this will work

I found an update via windows update but still same problem, so maybe it's incompatibility or a program problem since he installed alot of programs including videos players not only one and this maybe the problem 

 

I will try a clean Windows10 install and see how it will work if he agree

Fixed the problem it was BIOS, updated it and problem fixed in Win8.1 And Win10

i  updated  my firmware  on my Intel from the model page back when i 1st  put th2 on it..  That's good you figured it out for that model  ..All those people at Intel  forum never could :)

Im assuming the laptop is running windows 10?  You can try uninstalling the driver and using a driver cleaner then installing it see if that helps and if you want to use intel driver utility to install it thats fine.

I did the setting as shown below and tried installing the driver again.

i think u need to reinstall your windows as i saw on your screenshot you had too many customization on your GUI\

customizing the GUI is old way..

 

windows 10 looks pretty good and windowblind or other similar software not needed anymore

Still getting the same issue! Intel/Windows/whoever trying to install a driver that is already installed. Get it together, OEM!

Why windows is being an asshole! Why they think that they can make 3rd party drivers better than the device manufacturer itself? Really god forsaken assholes they are.
