Oh and can you believe that this fast, with the help of imported settings I am already back in ESS4.. and HAppy as hell. can you believe that after going at it with that program..I couldn't agree with you more. That xml settings export/import feature really puts ESET at the top of my list. I never have to waste time configuring it after installing it on other machines or reinstalling. HX1
Its a beautiful thing!.. LOL.. :thumbsup:You know I was thinking I seen a post about Notebook security versions not being for trial.. I was using the trial reset..I might have had better luck with the Firewall problem if I installed Total Care instead.. I believe what I had set off alarms because of the proxy.exe that runs with the setup. Using a Trial Registration allowed me to run the program but also solicited a ton of unwanted traffic to one port..with invalid trial registry for a full registration program.. after uninstall its gone.. a lot of it was caught by PG2.. BUT I still found it odd that they use two other AV's engines to accomplish their goal. Still not as smooth as ESS.. Also picked up false positives.. more so than ESS..Great options, very detailed .. that I do like...Boot Disc was nice, the safe was a nice add-on along with all of the registry cleaning..a lot of good tools in one place.. just needs some work, small things..and I don't mean because of the firewall issue either.. hamamia
1.Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 2.SandBoxie 3.Trojan Remover 4.Autorun Virus Remover For me this is the most powerful security setup: Kaspersky protects you of almost everything malware, spyware, pishing, network attacks etc etc etc. SandBoxie if I am unsure If an app is safe or not just run it sandboxed and it will protect your data from modifications (but first the new file must be scanned with Kaspersky). Trojan Remover for deletion of worms or rootkits or etc etc but only if the AV fails (that happened never to me) but only to be safe. Autorun Virus Remover does not let any virus to be opened from an USB it protects from all types of USB viruses. This is my choice?
Administrator DKT27 Posted September 11, 2009 Administrator Share Posted September 11, 2009 Good setup. I liked it. I cannot argue on Kaspersky with ESET and MBAM with Trojan Remover. It's each to his own. All that matters is the protection in both, and both are good. :)You may consider that sandbox is safe. ;)As far as Autorun Virus Remover is concerned you may have to be sure that you use a USB time to time as it maynot come into use with out USB :P .Well I have once faced an autorun virus in my life. You know how I deleted it? It was not deleteable even when I did some registry tweak. Nor did any AV detected it. But somehow I managed to remove it. :D

elohelomg
Just wondering...those of you who are extremely good with registries...i need your helpI brought back malware defender (really thinking about running it with defense wall though overkill), and was wondering aside from the whole auto start registry keys, what other registry entries should i protect? Bizarre™
@elohelomg:If you have COMODO with D+ on, protecting important registry keys is as good as done ;)
Administrator DKT27 Posted September 12, 2009 Administrator Share Posted September 12, 2009 Yup. Comodo's D+ asks you if you wanna allow a change to the registry or not.
Siddharta
My basic defence nowadays consists of: 1º) Eset Smart Security Business edition. 2º) Lavasoft Ad-Aware Anniversary Edition Pro. 3º) Malwarebytes 4º) Windows Defender & Removal Tool. Possible next changes: Firewall apart so Eset Nod 32 instead of Eset Smart. The problem is that I'm sure which firewall to use yet. Which one do you recommend? I have been testing lately: Loaris Trojan Remover (cons: too many false positives) Trojan Remover (cons: the company detected I had patched the programme) Superantispyware ( cons: the patches and keygens are becoming outdated). And of course I send suspicious files to Virustotal.com That's all ;)
Administrator DKT27 Posted September 13, 2009 Administrator Share Posted September 13, 2009 What is Eset Smart Security Business edition.? Trash ESET SS. Use Comodo, it's the best. Uses only 11,000Kb max on my XP in normal mode. And has best HIPS. And as you know that "HIPS don't lie".
Siddharta
It is a powerful Defense Suite containing: antivirus+antispyware+antispam + firewall +ESET SysInspector+el nuevo ESET SysRescue+ Self-Defense Technology y Anti-Stealth. etc :dance2:
Administrator DKT27 Posted September 13, 2009 Administrator Share Posted September 13, 2009 But the normal one is the same? I mean when I used ESET SS, now on Nod32, it also had all the features.ANW don't forget comodo with firewall only, is the best. :)

Siddharta
No Eset Nod does not have all the protection that Eset Smart offers. To start with Eset Smart has an integrated firewall that works together with the antivirus, and that is an advantage. ;) (My answer to DKT 27)
