Some Come, Some Go: New Major Apps for Windows 10 Released

Earlier today we’ve told you about a developer who decided to abandon Windows Phone because of poor demand for their official app, but while some are leaving the platform, there still a number of app makers who continue to believe in Windows and bring their apps in the store.

 

 

And obviously, Microsoft doesn’t want to miss the occasion and brag amount them, so today the company announced the launch of three new apps on Windows devices, namely Crunchyroll, Roku, and SiriusXM.

Crunchyroll, Roku, and SiriusXM

Crunchyroll for Windows 10 is an application that offers you with quick access to a video sharing platform similar to YouTube but focused specifically on anime and content coming straight from Japan. Crunchyroll lands as a universal app and comes with a live tile and Cortana support, so you can ask the app to do a quick search without even touching the mouse.

 

Before anything, it’s worth mentioning that the app also offers free downloads, but a subscription is required. And yet, it’s the best way to watch the newest seasons of very popular shows, including Naruto Shippuden.

Then, it’s the official Roku app for Windows 10 PCs. This app only works on PCs, so it’s not yet a universal release, coming with options to work with a Roku device from a desktop or tablet quite easily.

 

“With more and more Windows 10 devices supporting both point-and-click, as well as gesture navigation, you can browse lists with a simple swipe or by clicking to bring the next page of content to the front. Browse more than 3,000 channels and 300,000 movies and TV episodes, or ask Cortana to search for your favorite content,” Microsoft explains.

 

And last but not least, Windows 10 users are also getting a SiriusXM app on their PCs, but again, this isn’t universal so you can’t install it on phones. Obviously, this app lets you access the subscription-based service and listen to music, talk shows, comedy and entertainment shows right on your desktop computer. There’s also a live tile and Cortana support for Windows 10 devices.

 

Certainly, these releases come in handy for Windows 10 users, but it’s worth mentioning that there are apps, such as the SiriusXM, which only work in select regions, including the United States. Changing stores could be a solution, but since subscriptions are sometime required, you won’t be able to use them unless you’re a US resident.
