Batu69
Adoption of Windows 10 is improving at a fast pace Windows 10 adoption going strong in Denmark Windows 10 is already proving successful, as it’s running on more than 300 million devices, according to figures provided by Microsoft itself, and statistics coming from various vendors seem to confirm that adoption is indeed improving fast. While globally Windows 10 is the second desktop operating system with a market share of approximately 20 percent and Windows 7 is the leader with more than 45 percent, there are countries where the new operating system has already surpassed its predecessors and has taken over the leading spot. Case in point, Scandinavian markets, as the adoption of new software here has always improved faster than in most of the countries. Market share in Scandinavian countries Denmark is one of the regions where Windows 10 is already the leading desktop operating system, and data offered by StatCounter indicates that it’s currently number one with 35.17 percent. Windows 7 is now the runner-up with 28.33 percent while OS X is third with 19.92 percent. In Sweden, Windows 10 is very close to overtaking Windows 7, and if the same growing rate is maintained, the switch of places should take place as soon as this month. Windows 7 is the leader here with 33.5 percent while Windows 10 is very close with 30.02 percent. A similar chart can be found for Norway too, where Windows 7 continues to hold the top spot, but with Windows 10 getting closer and closer. Windows 7 has 36.12 percent in the country while Windows 10 is now at 30.32 percent and has all the chances to overtake its predecessor should everything go smoothly in June. All these statistics show that Windows 10 adoption is going very well, and Microsoft has all the reasons to be pleased with its new operating system. Certainly, the aggressive push that the company has created for Windows 10 is partly responsible for this boom in the majority of markets, so it remains to be seen if the same market share can be maintained in the long term or some users would actually return to their previous OS versions. Windows 10 is also close to overtaking Windows 7 in Sweden Article source
Conley Powell
The results published by Statcounter vary so wildly that we may safely assume they're just made up.

Conley Powell
I'm beginning to wonder whether these people work for Microsoft. Of course, there's are plenty of irrationality in the world that no one is paying for.

mirassol
"Windows 10 Already Has More Users than Windows 7 in Some Countries" Indeed. Last week, incidentally, a friend of mine rang from Jupiters' Ganymede to ask if i had Realtek latest drivers. Apparently they all replaced their XPs with Windows 10. haxzion
Even if those statistics are legit. -XP users jumped to 10 after MS threats -Many PCs auto updated to 10 without even a notice -Many people got scared of MS threats or got tired of the well know nagware and updated to 10 -Free update so why not -DX12 monopoly -Theories related to hardware support. For ex. Got a skylake setup? You MUST install Win10 And after a whole year, win10 might have more users in some countries.Wow what an accomplishment. But i'm still rocking Windows 7 with 0 issues.I know my pc might blow up some day but what can i say, i like to live dangerously
vibranium
There's lies, damned lies, and statistics. If the take-up rate in the Scandinavian countries is so good, and the average rate is *MEH* then the rate in some places must be horrible

If this is the case its nothing to brag about and most likely some of there software became uncompilable because of devs dropping support after 2 years of no updates and they bought new or used PCs , XP is not a free upgrade and only on some Vista boxes and newer can handle a upgrade . I got a old XP box here from they early 2000s ive not found a Linux distro yet that runs great on it let alone try to update newer windows on it. D1v1n3D
Lets face it Microsoft knows they are up against a brick wall these days. There really isn't an excuse to not adopt a Linux OS anymore windows is changing so much and is duplicating the many different Linux Distro's out there and even implementing Linux abilities into Windows 10 itself. Almost everyone's smart phone is a Unix derivative as is Linux, Android and iOS all derived directly from the roots of Unix which open source open network open community. However there is that less then one percent that has a MS phone which is not Unix based and locked down to specific kinds of hardware. My case in point the sooner we all switch to Linux the better here are few reasons; cost, stability, security, privacy, and speed. Sure there is a little bit of a learning curve but it's not that far from your android, iOS, and even Windows 10. However, there is no longer forced upgrades that totally changed the system to what has no resemblance of the previous OS, confusing and scaring many people away or making them angry. I will be promoting the leap to Linux more and more, as Microsoft has way to much control over the modern world in the PC market.

steven36
Even in countries were Windows 10 is above the world average the only time statcounter reports heavy Windows 10 usage is on the weekends 2 days out of the week..5 out of 7 days Windows 7 is always way out front meaning Windows 10 is mostly the Weekend warriors O/S of choice in places were its used more its mostly used for play and not work during the week the serious computer users who use the internet for work all be on windows 7 and there smartphones this is because Microsoft never even sold many copies of windows 10 yet no one is going out there way too buy it unless there pc blows ups and needs replaced they got it for free , i have pcs around here from 2002-2015 that still work the last thing i need is to make a buy right now. but smartphones are way ahead of windows 7 days a week even
