Experts are speculating that the FBI may be closely guarding a secret vulnerability in the Firefox browser that it can exploit for future law enforcement purposes, according to a Motherboard report yesterday. The article refers to a network investigative technique that the FBI used to hack visitors of the Playpen child pornography website. That site runs on the encrypted Tor network, but an exploit that works on the Tor browser would also work just as effectively on Firefox, upon which Tor was built. So far the U.S. Department of Justice has resisted a U.S. district court order to disclose the technique. In an interview with Motherboard, Christopher Soghoian, principal technologist at the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), said that by not disclosing the alleged vulnerability in such a popular global browser, “The government is essentially choosing to keep hundreds of millions of people vulnerable in case a few of them turn out to be criminals later.” Article source Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Back in old gangster days gangsters were looked up too as being cool because old Hollywood movies made them out too be so every one wanted to be gangsters . So the US government and Hover got Hollywood to make G men out to be cool then soon after everyone started wanting to be the FBI instead of Gangsters . Always Media has had strange effects on people's way of thinking . Thats why in countries ran by dictators and stuff they censor the internet and TV and only spreads that dictators or party's government's views . When you read or watch the news if it sounds like propaganda most likely it is . If stinks like poop, most likely it is poop . Everything is written by the mainstream media and scandal sells . Back in the 80s and 90s Fallen Televangelist scandals and Police scandals had everyone glued to there TV . Even OJ Simpson got away with murder because the trail was focused on the police being raciest instead of the murders . So you cant believe everything you read and hear these pedos in this case were downloading files from the FBI and anyone knows downloading files from people you dont know has spread virus since there was virus and malware . Back after 9/11 the FBI and NSA caught a bunch of terrorist trough chat rooms , Most of the software companies worked with the Government . So all this Microsoft taking the FBI to court If Microsoft Didn't store all you're data they be nothing to get . Data retention is not even a law in the USA . If these places were not trying sell you're data and hold on to it for personal gain they be nothing to get . I dont agree with the way the FBI does things i never have but without them it would not even be safe to be in you're own home . But the things these Fortune 500 Companies do to make money they bring it on there self . If I was a Law maker the 1st i would do is get rid of the problem I would ban Data retention for profit. If you cant make ads with out stealing peoples info to sell things you should not make ads . I dont look at ads no way I been blocking ads since 2006 24/7 thats the reason I stop using IE . If people are so scared of the police they should log of the internet but when its needed for work , to pay bills , Or to shop ..But I dont see no one logging off .only i see people expressing there opinion on the internet because they love scandal and drama they feed off it , instead of solving the problem by not coming online . In other words they need to get a real life . The whole Internet has always been hacked by the Government and hackers if you run Peer Guardian Linux or Peer Block for Windows and add the right list you will see this . If you go out in public you're going be seen by everyone unless you ware a disguise and that dont mean someone might not figure out its you and the internet is public domain so if you dont change you're ip everyone is going know its you and it dont mean some may not figure out its you if you're careless . By the main stream media reinforcing paranoia , it does more harm by putting the what if in peoples minds, than all the worlds spies and law enforcement combined does .
