Designer envisions what the upcoming Redstone cold look like

Redstone is the next big update for Windows 10, and according to people familiar with Microsoft’s plans, it’s scheduled to debut in the summer with several major improvements, including browser extension support.

While Microsoft remains quite tight-lipped on Windows 10 Redstone, designers across the world are using the available details, most of them still in the rumor stage, to create their very own interpretations of the upcoming update.

And this is the case of this video concept posted on YouTube by AGVideos and envisioning several improvements that could be made to Windows 10 with the Redstone update.

File Explorer tabs, revamped Start screen and Start menu

Both the Start menu and the Start screen have been revamped in this concept with new visual effects on mouse hover, while the taskbar now has custom transparency level and a similar effect when moving the mouse cursor over any icon.

The action center has its very own brightness slider for a custom level (the current one in Windows 10 only allows users to choose between 4 preset levels), while File Explorer received one of the most requested features – tab support. A dark theme is also available for the file manager, which will pretty much get it in line with the other redesigned apps in Windows 10 that already have such a visual makeover.

Tablet mode has also been improved with a redesigned Start screen, a new look for Microsoft Edge browser that makes it more appropriate for touch use, plus updates to Task View for easier switch from one app to another when a mouse is not being used.

Certainly, there still are a few things to be improved in this concept, but Microsoft should really have a look at this video because after all, these are some of the most requested Windows 10 features which undoubtedly need to be part of the Redstone update.

The start menu is UGLY! The tiles should NOT, in 1000 years have the label under them, it's a HUGE waste of space. Also, the "animation" for the taskbar icons is pointless. The explorer.exe changes would be nice and also the completely transparent and opaque taskbar :) the changeable sound icon to headphones (when using them) would be nice as well

The explorer update would be welcome. Some parts would need tinkering but we shall see how this development goes.

Get rid of tiles altogether, put on the phones/tablets but leave off pc. To much junk onscreen so I don't do tiles. If u need them put the label on the tile not below.

Fucking leave my computer how it is. I like the ribbon up there that was introduced in 8.1. It's very efficient and effective. Don;t change it to look like the settings menu. Settings is the worst piece of shit ever. Fuck, my god.

Leave File Explorer and Control Panel alone. The rest I don't give a shit. Stop changing shit that isn't broken. Fuck sakes man, piss me off if they change File Explorer GUI.

I love the changes and file explorer tabs look nice.  No new update is going to satsfy all users.  My question is when the hell is it going to be released.  Unfortunately this is what the designer thinks redstone would look like no official word on what its really going to be like.
