Latest Windows 10 Insider build crashes PC games

Microsoft yesterday released a new Windows 10 build to Windows Insiders which contains a bug that crashes PC games. Windows Insiders in the ‘fast ring’ received build 11102 yesterday and Microsoft warns that games like The Witcher 3, Fallout 4, Tomb Raider, Assassin’s Creed, and Metal Gear Solid V might crash.

The crashes are not limited to these games and are caused by a bug in the Windows graphics stack. This causes the games to crash when switching from windowed mode to fullscreen, upon game resolution change, or upon launch.

Users that use accessibility features of Windows such as  Narrator, Magnifier  and third-party assistive technologies are also advised to skip this build. The same goes for those who rely on  on screen readers.

Skipping build 11102 doesn’t mean missing a lot of new functionality. The only noticeable thing Microsoft has added is a new history menu in the Edge browser.

The crashes are in a build from the ‘fast ring’. Users that receive builds from this particular ring are warned that they might end up with an unstable Windows 10 version. If they want more stable Windows Insider builds, they can switch to the ‘slow ring’.

Another giant bug! That's why I don't believe the myth that fast ring releases are pretested by 10000 MS employees!!!

I guess bad publicity is better than no publicity  :P   All jokes aside Microsoft  done warned  Redstone  testers  long ago about a lots more bugs in these insider builds . You should not be beta testing on a production  machine no ways.

That bug is DISGUSTING omfg lawls.  I wonder would it crash if the game has a configuration menu before launching the game and you set the resolution there if it would crash (I need to hurry up and free hard drive space up that way I can use windows ten again).

Rest assured, Windows 10 users are getting everything they deserve and Microsoft is seeing to that. What are you doing playing games anyway, don't you know you are supposed to buy an XBox to play games, PCs are for CAD, and graphics, and all that good business stuff.  At least that is what Microsoft is saying.

No, their GWX upgrade-to-Windows-10 malware is what they use to annoy us (the ~ 1 billion Windows 7 and 8.1 devices who are resisting being assimilated by the Microsoft Borg empire). :)

Their tested-by-a-gazillion-users-but-still-broken updates are to make sure those who have already upgraded aren't spared any pain.

Bugs make money!  Some bugs will push that guy with an older machine over the edge & he'll buy a whole new computer - then Microsoft gets paid for the oem win10 and maybe office and some other softwares too.  Everybody's happy with a new windows computer.

Happened to half the guys at work, friday was nightmare day for us. I was laughing so hard when they turned on their pcs, only to start raging on why they'd been given the wonderful task of overseeing how stuff works on W10 :tehe:

Yes  once it messes  there  machine up maybe they  will  .. are maybe they just fix the one they have and put Windows 7 or 8.1  on it . Still there's plenty of  Windows 8.1 pcs in stock really cheap maybe they will buy one of those instead  .  :)

nothing to rage about. they willingly signed up to beta test an unstable branch (the fast ring) despite all the warnings. so if the system broke it IS expected to happen, not just this once, but all the time. that's why it exists.

Thats a giant water bug there sold as a delicacy in thailand markets.  That one looks dead most of the balloons on that one are popped (Im not sure if popping those hurts it I dont know that much about them) I would NOT eat one of those GROSS.  As far as microsoft insiders builds should be fun dealing with all the bugs imagine playing a april fools joke on a friend have a program crash and that picture pop up and if they ask what happened it looks like a giant bug lawls.  As for why I play games I stopped playing console games when playstation three came out I switched to pc games I love the keyboard and mouse I tried to play xbox or playstation three at my cousins house and I cant get used to the controls.
