This is the new Windows 10 Mail app

Microsoft has rolled out a new batch of updates for the pre-installed Windows 10 apps, so in case you’re already running this new OS version, have a look in the Windows Store to get them as soon as possible.

The Outlook Mail and Skype are the two apps that got improvements as part of this new rollout, but just like usual, Microsoft hasn’t provided any release notes that could let us know what exactly is new this time.

In fact, Microsoft no longer offers any change logs unless there’s something really worth mentioning in the updates, so it’s safe to assume that both Outlook and Skype come with only minor improvements that are most likely bug fixes and performance optimizations.

If you can’t see the updates just yet, you can manually launch the store and look in the Downloads and updates section by clicking on your avatar in the right top corner.

Last updates before Threshold 2?

In the meantime, all eyes are on Threshold 2, the next big update for Windows 10 that’s expected to debut next week for all those running RTM. Threshold 2 is likely to be released on November 10, which is also the day when Microsoft is projected to ship this month’s Patch Tuesday updates.

These app updates could thus be the last the company rolls out for Outlook and Skype before Threshold 2 lands on our computers, so make sure you install all of them for smooth deployment.

Threshold 2 will also bring a number of OS improvements that have previously been tested by insiders, including colored title bars, Edge browser enhancements, a new messaging app with Skype integration, and several other changes here and there supposed to refine the overall experience in Windows 10.

Windows insiders are also expected to get this new update before everyone else later this week.
