dcs18
Users of Windows 10 might want to use God Mode — maybe, pinned to the following:—Task Bar and/orStart Menu and/orDesktop Dock
davmil
The main reason the control panel is going is, with Windows 10, it falsely implies to the user that he/she has some "control" over their Microsoft's OS install, PC, bandwidth, internet connection, updates, privacy,...M$ are just protecting themselves from litigation in case someone sues arguing that a control panel implies the existence of user control. Something named "settings" doesn't have that implication. :)I think you said it better in your signature: Hanlon's Razor: Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity. steven36
Remember its not what you want, but what microsoft wants now that matters. :sThey removed the start menu in Window 8/8.1 it never got over less than 14 percent of marketshare with these 2 versions combined . Looks like they would learn removing stuff is just not good for business. Just like they removed ability to turn off auto updates and to turn off all data harvesting in windows 10 . If they would made the O/S a little more like Windows 7 and less like a phone a whole lot more people would be using it already . But as it stands there having a hard time giving it away much less will they ever be able to sell it next year?
mkc21
when I saw the old control panel still in w10 i thought: wtf ms? really? This is an unprecedently nasty decision as keeping two things that do practically the same thing doesn't make any sense at all

If they take all you're choices away you be stuck with something Microsoft wants you to have and not something you chose to have .
CODYQX4
People are salty as hell, but as long as they don't make things impossible to change, I don't care. How is this different from them shuffling XP to Vista for no reason whatsoever? As long as the same things can be changed, I don't care about Control Panel. As far as 3rd Party control panels, those suck and are usually just shortcuts to the app that controls the settings. That can just be a shortcut in the Start Menu. I turned my old pc that had windows 10 on into a Linux box and Im on a brand new windows 8.1 that was built right before Windows 10 came out . 1st thing it did was try to install windows 10 on it. I had delete updates and hide other updates . ^_^
