If you want use cracked phone apps buy yourself a mac or make yourself a Hackintosh. Or use a phone and not a windows one This is another reason people will never benefit from using the windows store unless you buy it or its free. If you use cracked stuff you need to install it or Microsoft may try to force updates on you if you dont keep it blocked to uncrack it. You can't stick forever to Windows 7. it has it's cons too. so better start learning how to solve this problem. you can install Windows 10, use Kaspersky Internet security 2016 to block the whole Microsoft programs (just with 4 clicks) and use Windows 10 even safer than Windows XP. use a proxy to give internet access only to certain apps (e.g chrome.exe). Windows 10 is definitely more beautiful than Win7 or Win8.1 so to use it with the same security level as previous Windows versions you need to spend some time to configure it.

How to use KIS 2016 to block Microsoft without breaking the whole internet access? What software do you use to make the proxy?

Ummmm. You can remove those folders above your drives in Explorer. Aero can be enabled. Charms can be disabled but there's really no need to. Classic Shell includes both an Aero start menu AND classic explorer, but you can hide the ribbon anyway if you want. Buried & butcherd control panel? Not sure what that's all about as I see the exact same Control Panel that was in Win7. Settings app, no need to even enter it again once you initially set your options in it. Apps... another invalid point. Who says you need to install any apps? 8.1 has a faster boot and shut down than 7, a HIGHLY superior Task Manager, is more stable and has better performance, features a better file transfer dialogue, better security, longer EoL, etc. Here's a pic of Windows 8.1 complete with no Explorer ribbon, Start Menu, Control Panel. and even the XP style Quick Launch. The ONLY third party software installed that is effecting how anything looks is Classic Shell & the ONLY thing it is effecting is the Start Menu alone. Every point you made is null and void. Win8.x haters all just jumped the anti-metro bandwagon & never jumped off.

There has been lots of gnashing of teeth in the media and in forums over the weekend concerning the updated EULA for a part of Windows 10. Following some wording changes, headlines began to appear screaming out that Microsoft had granted itself permission to trawl through your computer, disabling counterfeit software and hardware.

The doomsday scenario is Windows 10 starts looking for your pirated copies of Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop and Call of Duty and shutting them down. Perhaps then passing on your details to their outraged creators who take you to court with irrefutable evidence.

The bad news is this is theoretically possible. The good news is I’d say it is pretty unlikely.

Xbox Live has long used updates to track down and disable pirated Xbox 360 and Xbox One titles – much like Apple AAPL +0.99% closing jailbreak loops in iOS – but Microsoft has never shown any interest in pursuing matters further.

Therefore I suspect the same will be true for Windows 10. It is also harder to accurately scan every variant of PC software than spotting Xbox titles, but it does still mean there’s a good chance any pirated software you run on Windows 10 may not last much longer.

There's no way they could tell if you were running cracked Photoshop vs legit if its and installed version if its blocked with a firewall it dont even call home to say its cracked :lol:

The ratio of licensed windows to pirated windows in china is 1:9. Every one out of ten PC in China uses genuine user. That's way too high.!

Indonesia is considered to be 2nd on the list with 86% pirated windows users, followed by India with a piracy rate of 63% while United States has least piracy rate of 19%.

You know, I'm using Windows Firewall Control and I have it set up with ONLY my rules. I followed a tweaking guide by dcs18. I dare say, i've set the notifications to HIGH and I've blocked Windows 10 from calling home. So much so that I have to disable the firewall to get updates. And even then, the block rules are still enforced. Just new connections are blocked. You all should really look into dumping performance hogging antivirus programs. ASC Ultimate has bitdefender's engine without all the firewall and other features. Simple on access and on demand scan.. and tune up and scan for tracking. It's beautiful :')

The list of services covered by the agreement doesn't explicitly include Windows 10. However, it does include your Microsoft account, which is an extensive part of the Windows 10 experience, as well as core features like Cortana – and that implies Redmond can disable any games you’ve pirated or devices you’ve "unlawfully" hacked. Enable Cortana (which pretty-much everyone using Windows 10 is going to do) and you're subject to the Services agreement.

While it’s incredibly clear what Microsoft means by “counterfeit games”, the wording “unauthorised hardware peripheral devices” is a little hazy. Does this mean Microsoft can now block uncertified PC or illegally-modified Xbox One and Xbox 360 controllers? Furthermore, Microsoft’s agreement doesn’t state if it will also disable other counterfeit software, such as cracked versions of Office or Adobe Photoshop, or if it only cares about pirated Microsoft games.

I’ve reached out to Microsoft for a comment about these unanswered questions and will update you when more information becomes available. (UPDATE: More than five days after we initially published this story still haven't heard anything back. If anyone from Microsoft reads this, please get in touch!)

Video game piracy, or “counterfeit games” as Microsoft puts it, has been a big issue in PC gaming for a long time. Many developers have sought to circumvent it by hard-coding impossible odds into their games, which are only solved by having a purchased activation code on your computer. The same issue is also now becoming prevalent on Android and jailbroken iOS devices. However, under Microsoft’s new Services agreement, Windows 10 Mobile would be able to combat any pirated software a user loads onto their phone – potentially making it an attractive prospect for indie developers scared of having their work stolen.

Interestingly, Microsoft killed off its incredibly unpopular, DRM-heavy, Windows Live Games in Windows 10, and opted to support Steam instead. But, with these terms and conditions, Microsoft has managed to do something that's arguably worse, potentially limiting the use of software which doesn't even have DRM on it.

How far can Microsoft push this? Like Expert Reviews, we think it's unlikely that Microsoft actually intends to go after pirated games on the PC. The services agreement was clearly written originally for Xbox and Xbox Live, and when writtten was probably only intended to ever apply to them. However, because Microsoft has simply taken an existing services agreement and applied it to core Windows 10 services like Cortana means that, intentionally or accidentally, it could be applied to Windows 10. And until Microsoft clarifies things, we think this remains a legal grey area.
