I never register it because it will update , scan on demand and remove malware witch on my pc it never finds nothing but false positives . So why would I want to use realtime ?

Only thing I see this program being useful for if you was to accidentally install a PUP . Its more useful out in the field removing malwares from people who dont have and antivirus with antimalware .

I am just curious . . . . . . . . do(es) the free MBAM executable/s get terminated with your Task Manager?

BTW, can someone please confirm the number of services the Final, DC 2015-06-30 now runs - is it less . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . or even more? yXZVmpE.gif

Same question for the paid variant of MBAM, too.

he just showed it dont it dont run as a service at all . In order to induce those services you must activate the program . Only MAM free runs as a process when you start it up . It never runs as a extra service.

Executable & Service are 2 entirely different things - they do not need to depend on each other to run. A5qMhta.gif

From Processes - Yes

From Services - No

Applies for both. (Free MBAM has no active service though)

Sorry, self-protection was off. On activating it, I wasn't able to terminate it from task manager. Applies for Premium version. Free version doesn't have self-protection

No problemo!

So WRT to the paid version, it seems to boil down to either tolerating and grinning-at those services . . . . . . . . . or, accepting the fact that MBAM can be terminated to expose the User's system (if services are disabled.)

this is the fact about most extra protection I dont like . Years and Years have came and went and people on these boards and security sites tires to sell you on the idea that one day it may be needed to remove a real threat but one day never comes . My real time of my antivirus does its job . Really I conclude its being a bit on the paranoid side . The days of antivirus without antimalware are long gone . These programs were invented before antivirus added antimalware and we still use them out of paranoia based on the fact we needed them years ago.

I don't understand whats so hard about understanding what DC means ? Its and acronym for date code . And only thing it stands for in software is when a installer was signed or modified. And always when installers update sometimes it may just be to update the installer or to add crapware its not always anything new you have look in the installer to see .

Anyone can download the installer and see it has a datecode of the 18th , not the 29th or the 30th.
